My prayer request is not an easy one to explain. For this reason I pray you will bear with me in an attempt to clarify my request
In 1983 I was falsely convicted of murder and sentenced to death. Since then I have spent the last 24 plus years fighting for my vindication. Only to discover again and again that the odds of my success are stacked heavily against me due to a major flaw in our legal system. A legal system, which also turns a blind eye to vigilantism and over zealous unscrupulous prosecutors, concerned more with conviction quotas and their own political gain than seeing that justice is actually served.
A pattern now suggests that the prosecution in my case was wantonly apt at exploiting a loophole in the law. With this knowledge that their misconduct and abuse of discretion would likely go unpunished even if revealed they did whatever it took to insure I was convicted and condemned to death. This allegation of the legal system consorting to turn a blind eye to the existence of vigilantism eroding the integrity of the law is a serious problem that demands review. Yet the legal system willfully fails to recognize the evidence that supports its own misconduct and admit its violations of and failures to protect the integrity of the law. This makes it a virtual catch twenty-two for any person that happens to get ensnared in it.
The dynamics that support the major loophole in our legal system are politics and economics. Meaning it is more cost effective and politically correct to overlook this pattern of vigilantism than it is to punish those who shed their sacred oaths to protect the integrity of the law and always seek justice. The profound truth of this assertion comes to light through the knowledge of it; taking years to eventually reveal its ugly head and by then the pattern has tainted the evidence of hundreds, if not thousands of cases. Making it impossible for the state to admit as it would, in affect open the door to instant review on each and every case. The political and economical fallout would be too over whelming for the justice system (not to mention the tax payer).
The knowledge that this loophole this coupled with the fact that there is no personal liability for misconduct encourages those who have intentionally shed their moral and ethical oaths to actively participate in suppressing exculpatory evidence and even intentionally fabricating evidence.
Cohorts to this type of behavior make a mockery and farce of our judicial system. They have even proven they are willing to knowingly execute an innocent person by politically enacting procedural hurdles and time bars for even substantiated claims of actual innocence. With the personal knowledge of this flaw within our legal system and as a victim of it, I have come to the hard reality that I face the possibility of never being able to vindicate myself and prove my actual innocence. As the legal system has repeatedly functioned to suppress the truth of how they railroaded me for murder and then condemned me to death.
The only recourse for me now is seeking help from outside that legal system which has ensnared me in its catch 22. With this insight into the problem I must overcome to vindicate myself. I hope you will join me in prayer for influence both inside and outside of the legal community to take an active interest in my case.
