View Full Version : Husband up for parole this coming week on the 17th
aliswifey 09-09-2003, 10:57 PM Hi, as you can see from the topic my hunny is going before the parole board in Lexington this next week. I would like to get information on what to expect....from the people to the facility etc....what is the process like....when do we find out the results....if approved when will the paperwork get to the governor....any information you could give me would be much appreciated. I am so nervous....I am so scared to think that he actually may get out (even tho I cant help it and I keep making plans for stuff I want to do when he gets out :D) only to be devestated if they decide not to let him out.....:( I cant imagine how Im going to make it till I find out one way or another....not only is the couse of his life for the next year dependent on those five people, so are the lives of myself and our son.....I hate being out of control and this is completely out of my hands.....the letters have been written and Im going to the be there and his sister is speaking on his behalf (she is a college professor and is very good at public speaking....me on the other hand I barely made it through a basic speech class in college without fainting...lol) so the rest is up to five strangers. So anyway Ill stop my rant ...any information would be wonderful. Thanks!!!
eugenesgirl 09-10-2003, 01:27 PM I just went through the parole last month so I will share with you what I seen and heard. The VERY first question they ask EVERY inmate was "Are you in any programs that will help you?" the next question to EVERY inmate was "Have you had any write-ups in the past 12 months?" If the inmate said yes, parole was denied. If they were not in a program, they wanted a reason why. After they talk to the inmate, the delegate can talk for 2 minutes, they actually set a timer for 2 minutes! After that, the inmate leaves the room and they announce their decision right then and you will know. Good luck and try to calm down, the whole process takes less than 30 minutes.
aliswifey 09-10-2003, 02:40 PM Thanks eugenesgirl, I appreciate the input. He will be able to say that, yes, he was in programs.....but he was unable to complete them..(he has been in the Lindsay medical hospital for the majority of the time he has been there) and no he has had no write ups...so pray that those five people decide to show compassion, wake up on the right side of the bed that morning etc... :)
flygirlaa2 09-10-2003, 02:49 PM I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
aliswifey 09-10-2003, 04:55 PM Thank you flygirl, I appreciate it.....I know I will be needing it.
Positive thoughts being sent... I hope he's approved!

imaprisonwife 09-10-2003, 09:53 PM I hope everything goes well with his parole. Your in my prayers and i do ask one thing of you? Please dont let this stress you out my husband went in june of last year and was denied and it made me sick for 5 months. Put your faith in the Lord cause he is the one that knows what is going to happen. Believe me i learned from that because my husband it didnt bother him at all,he told me that its God's Time and when it is he will let us know. So take a deep breath it will be ok. Once again prayers will be with you
aliswifey 09-11-2003, 01:27 AM Thank you Deb, China and Imaprisonwife I am happy to know I have all of these positive thoughts and prayers going for us. I will try to follow your advice Prison wife...I know that God will see that things are done in the way that they are supposed to be. I have to be greatful that even if he is not approved for this parole that he will be out before the end of 2004.....that in itself is a blessing. Thank you everyone for the wonderful support, I know that no matter the outcome of the hearing that I will be able to come here and share my happiness or my sadness and I will have many people that have been through what I am going through.

MommaHen 09-22-2003, 01:38 PM Aliswifey
Have we heard anything about the boards recommendation yet? I know it will be awhile before you hear the governors final say but i was wondering what the board had to say.
eugenesgirl 09-22-2003, 01:51 PM It goes to the gov. office on Oct 1st, he had to do a mandatory 10 years and that is over on Oct 1. The home visit was approved and he has signed his parole certificate, so once the 1st gets here, it's suppose to be 30 days. I will hound the gov office if I have to:)
aliswifey 09-22-2003, 08:49 PM Thank you for asking MommaHen, I have been out of town and just got back today. The board unanimously agreed, :) I am so happy, lets just hope everrything thing else goes as well!! Good luck eugenes girl, I will be praying for you. Let me know how it goes.

aliswifey 10-29-2003, 10:12 AM Thanks, yes I am....I am getting more and more nervous the more time passes....I can't WAIT to have him home!!! I will keep everyone updated! :)
Skunkette 11-06-2003, 07:12 AM Hello Aliswifey,
Well from what I read I believe that he will be home probably within the next 6-7 days from today (Nov 6). Keep us posted and keep on praying. Best wishes to the both of you.
aliswifey 11-06-2003, 12:40 PM Skunkette-
I am praying for it....what did you read to decide on a week?? (wondering if I have missed something along the way???) That would be such a blessing if he were to be home in that time frame. Thanks for the well wishes.
MommaHen 11-06-2003, 01:25 PM Me too We are figuring it to be at least 60-90 days after the parole hearing till he is home. But you guys are coming up on the 60 days!!!
Skunkette 11-06-2003, 01:33 PM They are getting them out pretty quick now that the govenor has finally got his feet wet. DOC sent people to help him after he took office when paroles started backing up. DOC is so strapped for money and the population is running over 97% every month. When cap was in effect it would kick in at 95% capacity. They have many many more holding in County Jails that are ready to go to A & R. After the boards approval it is taking about a month and a half to get them to the streets. This is what I have seen and heard. And some gut feelings.
Skunkette 11-06-2003, 01:42 PM The govenors approval list for September is posted on the internet. You can see if the govenor has signed it.
aliswifey 11-06-2003, 07:52 PM Where do I go to get that information? I know the ppb has their decision...but I havent been able to find anything on the governors decisions??
aliswifey 11-06-2003, 07:54 PM Yes, we are getting up there Momma Hen! I can't wait for him to be home! It seems as though it gets harder each day because I am being so impatient! :P
Skunkette 11-07-2003, 06:12 AM aliswifey Goodmorning to you. Just got your message and checked the site. They have now (Friday) changed the list from the Sep. people to the Oct. people over night. It is located at the bottom of the ppb site. Roll down to the bottom and you will see Governor Paroles and Governor Denials. The Webmaster is Ronnie Ladd you might be able to go to the very bottom of the page and email the Webmaster and maybe he can tell you about Septembers. It really was on there yesterday but as I said it is now showing Oct. Hope this helps.
MommaHen 11-07-2003, 09:28 AM Skunkette They already have the governors results for Oct up way to cool maybe we will get home quicker than we thought too!!!
aliswifey 11-07-2003, 10:13 AM Well I just called and spoke with a woman at the p&pb and asked her about Septembers results....she said that they have not even met on those yet, that the meeting was the 18-21 of this month.....*grr* I looked on the October governor results and there are dates from last April all the way up to this past September on it. So I have no clue...
Skunkette 11-08-2003, 08:59 AM Well I believe that your hubby will be home before you ever see it posted on the website. Keep the faith.
aliswifey 11-08-2003, 11:25 AM Thank you Skunkette. I pray that is true. :)
Skunkette 11-08-2003, 01:17 PM Your Very Welcome. Just remember to keep the faith.
