Depending on where you are at, I am in Iowa and it takes 2 days to get letters there or from my hubby. They don't do mail call on the weekends or Monday. So they only get their mail on Tues - Friday. I hear from my husband when it is mail call time their hearts stop until mail call is over in hopes and excitement that they are getting a letter. If they are not in the dorms when mail call is done they leave them on their letters on their beds.

It's not a bad place at all. No violent criminals, everyone there did things or where in the wrong place at the wrong time, a lot of people busted on drug crimes, tax things, fraud, that sort of stuff. They are all very respectable to one another. My hubby has yet to see a fight or even hear of one. They sleep in dorm rooms of 5-6 people to a room. The place was an old military base, no gates or anything like that. If you have ever been on a military base then you would know that it is not that bad.

Since my husband is in Duluth I was surprised at the statement they didn't receive mail on Mondays. I asked him last night if he got mail, he did. Maybe different dorms don't, but his does. Of course, if Monday is a holiday they wouldn't receive any mail.
