Hi all. I just heard on the evening news that a tornado struck in Alabama, and so far there have been seven casualities! I am worried sick about my sweetie. Have any of you called to check up on your loved one? I just want to know that everything is alright. I fear that when something like this occurs, inmates would be the LAST people that officials concerned themselves with. Many people view them as "disposable" and don't care about what happens to them. :( They forget that inmates have people that love them too. I know I would be devastated if something bad were to happen to Steven. I just feel so helpless right now. And scared! If anyone out here knows anything that could put my mind at ease, please post a message. Thanks!

I have been following the situation, and though it looks like most of the damage was to the east of Atmore, things were bad ALL over the state. I'm not in Alabama currently, so I'm anxious to hear from anyone in state for an update. I would think that if there was damage to the prison, not only would it be televised, but it would probably be a top priority because you know how Alabama loves making sure those "bad guys" are locked up tight!! But, my stomach was in knots too when I watched that coverage last night -- its so scary!!!!

I think everything is ok...trust me if a tornado would have hit one of the prisons in alabama we would know it. He will be ok. I know it is scary when bad weather comes thru the state, I am always thinking of my honey too...

The tornado didn't hit the prison.. although me and my guy are ALWAYS wishing one would <shrug> what? just think about it.. one comes through.. takes off the top or something.. knocks down the guard tower.. it lands on the security truck lol... and he gets to run away free LMAO.. well.. we can wish cant we?
it is funny though.. how ALL the tornados that come through here.. NEVER seem to even come close to doing ANYTHING to a prison...
but Lisa.. yes.. everyone is fine there..
