As the best place to stay in Vegas for the $$$, I'm planning a family trip there and want nice but not outrageous if that makes sense. Thoughts on Desert Rose? Circus Circus?

I stayed at the Stratosphere, and it was nice. Not too expensive, but I was also on a flight package through America West. Try travelworm.com or sidestep.com for good deals.

I've never seen the rooms at the Circus Circus in Vegas, but I used to live in Reno, and the one there is awful. So just on that alone, I would stay away from Circus Circus.

Circus Circus is an aging hole. How much do you want to spend a night?

Last time I went I got a good deal on plane fare and hotel (New York New York) through Southwest,I am sure it is probably more expensive now but at the time it was like $220 per person for 3 nights and plane I believe

I would go to the Monte Carlo, its right in the middle of the strip where all the attractions are and its beautiful but not too expensive. I stayed there June 2003 and I had a great time. Very child friendly also, good luck!
