 My man is currently serving time at Wallace Unit in Tx. When I call the TDCJ#-his possible release date is Oct.15 of this year but he has not gone before the parole board. This is his 1st time down and he is thinking that he is getting out on this date. I am trying to find out any info. on how this all works and if I should be expecting to pick him up on this date!!! How soon before release do inmates go before parole in Tx.? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!
BLESSED BE!!!!!:)

jojo,
Please read my post about the Tifa meeting with parole board member, in the Texas forum......it may help answer some of your questions. God Bless,

Haven't seen anything lately, but the last statistics and quotes given by anyone I've ever talked to indicate 1st reviews are granted about 25% of the time....the 2nd review increases those chances to about 50%....just what I've seen or heard....nothing carved in stone. Depends on the board. Some members have higher approval ratings than others. You can check out the stats on the Board of Pardons/Paroles website from their 2002 annual report!

I personally think there is no predictability or pattern with Texas and parole...I just keep my fingers crossed and keep on praying!

I have to agree with the others, there's not much rhyme or reason to parole in Texas. He hasn't had an interview or heard anything from the board? I'm not sure what you're hearing on the line. They do give a "projected release date" but that's when the good time, work time, etc adds up to when under the old rules, they automatically got to come home. the date doesn't mean much now, unless he's there under the old rules. Mine has a projected release date but it doesn't mean anything, its all up to the parole board. There's also a parole date but it just measn that's when they're coming up.

Jojo, his parole date is the date he is eligible to come up for parole, they don't get out on that date nor do alot of them have their parole hearing on that date either.
