I have to surrender Feb 28th by noon to FMC Carswell. I have Lupus and I was just sentenced to one year and one day for white collar crime. I was just wondering if there is anyone I can talk to or ask questions. I read most of the posts on here but some are pretty old and I see that you cant smoke there anymore. Just wondering if anything else has changed. I read so many posts about how bad the medical treatment is at FMC and that worries me because I routinely have to do chemotherapy to regulate my counts and I'm worried that I will have to wait a long time or may not be able to at all. Can anyone give me anymore information.

hello,
i did 13 months in lexington womens camp. i have lupus also. while i was at lexington everyone talked about how the medical in carswell was great. i received my medicine in lexington except for any pain medicine, but i was told in carswell you are allowed pain medicine because it is a medical facility. good luck, and your 10 months will fly by... do your time wisely, DONT let your timedo you!!!
love,

I am to report soon to FMC Carswell also, with a long list of medical problems. I've gotten a few extensions so I could wrap up my treatments on the outside but I know I will be reporting 2/19 unless I get another extension to report 3/12 so I can finish most of my medical treatment. Maybe I will meet you in there. I'll be there for 8 months.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I'm going to call them tomorrow and find out exactly what you are allowed to take with you and I'll post it on here cuz I know I've read a bunch of people asking and I know I still want to know if anythings changed. I have only a week left before I go.

Not much has changed. Ring, if married (no stones), religious medallion (no stones), sometimes a Bible, prescription eyeglasses--that's about it.

Ladies, I would only like to ask one thing of you going to Carswell. As soon as you are released to come back to PTO for more moral support and total understanding from a lot of loving folks. You might also consider posting about the medical treatment and maybe do away with a lot of unkowns and horror stories that are appearing on the site. May God be with you ladies as you embark upon this journey into the unkown for you and may He keep you safe until your return.
