I was hoping someone out there might can help....My fiance is in Dodge State Prison Inmate Boot Camp in Chester, GA.. He has been here for about 30 days I think, we can only write to each other-no calls or visitation. His counselor called to let me know that he was there and would be here for 90 days and if successfully completed the program then he would come home after the 90 days. I wrote him a letter 4 weeks ago that he just got this week!!! Chester is about 3 hours away from where we live!! Prior to this he was at Baldwin in Hardwick for diagnostics and before that in the county jail of which he was arrested. But he has been gone since 4/2/03. We were not engaged or living together prior to his incarceration, but we were together!! He asked me to move in with him while he was in the county jail ( I said yes of course) and about 3 weeks ago I wrote hima letter proposing to him (of course he said-yes). We are very much in love and are dying to be together but he was told that he would not be able to parole out to his house that he would have to stay with relatives?? Could he parole out to my house? Does anyone know? Thanks...Sick in Love!!!!

Hi~! I have a situation similiar to yours... Joe and I werent living together before he was incarcerated though. Our relationship has progressed tremendously while he has been locked up and we had planned on living together once he came home, but from what I have read we wont be able to. I read that unless we were common law husband and wife or married that he would have to live with his parents. Its a stupid rule I think but I dont see how they can make them stay with family. Once he is home we decided to let him parole out to his parents and then once he gets adjusted to his parole officer to ask to live with me. Hope this helps..

Does anyone have any information on visitation at Dodge State Prison. My husband was just sent there from Jackson Diagnostic, I know that the visitation is 9-3 weekends only. But is it through bars/mesh like Jackson? I like to know ahead of time to prepare myself for what I will see.

My fiance paroled out last June and we live together. We are not married but I did write several letters to the parole board on his behalf speaking of our family/future plans together after his release. If you ladies have any questions about parole and such, please feel free to PM me. We have had a very pleasant experience with parole and he has been out almost a year now! We have even transferred counties and such when we moved to our new house in October last year.

My boyfriend is at Dodge also, the visitation is one big room with 3 sections it is face to face but you have to sit at a little table across from them and you cant hold hands or have excessive touching but you are allowed to hug and kiss at the beginning and end of each visit. You aren't allowed to bring in more than $20 and if you bring in change you have to have it in a plastic bag or something see through. Leave everything in your car except license and keys of course they do have lockers but you have to pay for them. Other than that its not all that bad
