Once... long ago.... the idea of an IL PTO get-together was tossed about..... It didn't turn out well as several people SAID they were coming... but no one showed up.... :(

But I have noticed that we have new IL PTO members and our IL forum is growing... so I figured I will throw this idea out again.... Is anyone interested in having a get-together so some of us IL people can meet face to face?!?!

Please post whether or not you are interested and WHERE you would like the get-together to be..... (even if you don't want to post where you may live in IL, posting a general region or area OR where you would be able to meet...)

I myself am in Rockford.... But would be willing to travel for a get-together........

Let's first see if there is interest... and then among those interested (if any... :)) we can narrow down when and where!!

I would be interested and will talk to the man about it. He gets a bit weird about such things, and I do too sometimes, but I am willing to discuss it worther and see what's up.

Along these same lines but wondering if you ever plan your visits around the same time and meet up afterward or something? I would love to meet some of you and wondered if any did this.

Marly..... We could definitely meet at Menard sometime!! Although my visits and schedule are a bit complicated right now as I am a single mom overnight with a 16 year old foster daughter... I am still figuring all that out!!

I wouldn't mind meeting up with people at Menard. I'm only there a couple of times a year and my next trip is in a bit more than 5 weeks. I'm taking the 5 days allowed for October and the five for November and I'll be with Tony for 10 whole days, well, you know what I mean!!
I won't be over again until March/April unless I can get a cheap flight over the New Year period.

Count me in!!! I'm about 35 SW of Chicago... (Joliet/Plainfield) right off the highway with lots of reasonable motels and eating places near by..

I am just now being placed on the visitors list but will soon now for sure. There shouldn't be any problems with this. I am only about 2 hours away from Menard so anytime is usually good. I am planning more of my visits during the weekdays as he has family who comes on the weekends. But if anyone plans weekend visits I can arrange for that also. The support each receives here is wonderful and to meet personally is something I think we all would enjoy.

My fiance is currently in the DuPage County Jail STILL awaiting sentencing! Other inmaes have told him that he will most likely go to Big Muddy. But until sentencing, we have NO idea where he'll be located.

I'll be coming to Joliet at the end of March. Is anyone else visiting at Stateville around that time? I will then be going to either Lawrence or Centralia. Would love to have dinner with members! I'm going to try to go to Florida for the conference as well, but the visit has to come first.

Hey this is a very cool idea because that way we will all know each other and we would be able to form carpools easier so that we can all get to see are men for cheaper because money for me is kind of tight I don't know about yall. I love to get to know people that are in my situation and know what I am going through. My friends are always telling me stuff but half the time they just don't understand. This can actually help out the Illnois forum because we will have that image that is warm and welcoming. I actually enjoy this site and make it my duty to pull it up everyday. With that all said I am interested in the gathering and I am located on the South Side of Chicago. I would find a way to travel for this gathering.
