hey guys i just read this on the news here in okla and i wanted to get your thoughts on it myself i fee like maybe they need to look at why they are SEVERLY overcrowded and maybe the best solution is not to start sending people out of state but i guess releasing people is just unimaginable for these people or maybe they feel like the inmates family hasnt suffered enough lets just send em to a whole other state http://kotv.com/news/local/story/?id=119536

I doubt seriously that they will be doing any early releases any time soon. I have heard that the legislation signed today was specific to illegal aliens who've had no visits for 2 years, with more than 5 years to go. I guess it gets more aggressive after the first year. The overcrowding has come from bad infrastructure management. There have not been adequate facilities built or maintained to support the increase in inmate population. Not overcrowding, undergrowth.

miss... they have already sent some to Tennessee and Arizona. With our overcrowding situation, they would have to send about 30% of the inmates out, and there are not enough beds in other states to take that many. I think they need to release the non violent early into programs or something... who knows, I know we have till June to get it under control before the Federal government takes over.

If you go to today's SacBee on-line, there is a whole article about it. And they do sound like it's gonna be out of our hands.

WELL FIRST LET ME SAY GOOD MORNING FORM CENTRAL VALLEY LOL.....:D .....OKAY I KNOW ITS HARD TO DEAL WITH OUT STATE TRANSFERS AND ALL ESPECIALLY BEING SO FAR AWAY FROM US (THEIR FAMILY).....THERE ARE THE PROS AND CONS TO THIS OUTTA STATE TRANSFER THING....SOME GOOD AND SOME BAD..I HAVE FIRST HAND EXPERIECE WITH THIS SITUATION BECAUSE MY HUSBAND
IS OUT OF STATE ARIZONA TO BE EXACT YOU KNOW WHEN HE WAS IN CALIFORNIA HE WAS A DIFFRENT PRESON LIKE ITS HARD TO EXPLAIN. BUT SINCE HE HAS BEEN IN ARIZONA THERES A CHANGE IN HIM THE WAY HE TALKS, THE CHOICES HE DESIRES TO MAKE WITH HIS FUTURE THERE IS A VERY BIG DIFFRENCE IN HIM AND TO BE HONEST IT IS FOR THE GOOD. YES I KNOW I DOWN TALKED THIS OUTA STATE TRANSFERS BUT IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS SCARED PRISON IS PRISON I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. PLUS HE IS 600+ MILES AWAY AND TO BE HONEST AS HARSH AS THIS SOUNDS IM OKAY WITH IT.... AND IN MY OPINION THE DISTANCE IS A BOTHERSOME BUT I AM OKAY WITH IT I DO AGREE WITH SOME POEPLE THEY SHOULD RELEASE THE LIGHT CRIME INMATES BUT WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING FAT CHANCE...MY HUSBAND HAS 5 YEARS LEFT SO HE WONT BE HOME ANY TIME SOON:(

This is just my opinion, but from the way I seen the state react to this whole situation they are not going to release anyone. The Republican and the Democrats will keep pointing their finger each other and do nothing then the feds will step-in when time is up and take over. Neither side wants to be the one to reduce time and let inmates out. Nor will the Governor, he has the power to reduce time but he won't, I bet you that because he doesn't want to look like his soft on crime. So our government is just making a whole lot of noise trying to look good, that's it that's all.
