I got a letter from another prisoner wanting me to send it to Richard. Richard has been moved to another and hopefully better facility.

The letter has something to do with his case and most of the letter responds to legal cases.

Two sentences in it has me wondering what the meanings are though.

"I trust you are stisfied being you are at a private prison plus sittin on fat."

the other sentence I don't understand.......

"I will get thoses briefs to you as soon as I get a response and don't forget the family will always look out on both ends."

Will anyone translate please? LOL

Sounds coded.. The legal reference may mean something else.. Letter/info.. Family could mean friends on the outside.. Sitting on fat may mean sitting in a better position than previously.. Living better, etc..
Basically, they agreed ahead of time on how to talk to each other.. Mix it in with legal stuff to get lost from most prying eyes in the mail room..? Or it could mean something or nothing else..

I have no idea either. It may be something only he understands. Steven talks like that sometimes to me that way when they happen to inspect the mail and read it they would think we're talking about something else.

if the reference is what I am thinking it has several but let me give you a few.
1) having perks from your peeps outside.. High Roller
2) have a judge or attorney in your pocket
3) having info which gives you a little cusion on someone.

He does have some evidence against some CO's. If and when his case gets to court and they try this some people will lose thier jobs.

He has no "real family" to help him but he has connections everywhere.

I haven't heard from him since he has moved. I called the priosn to get information about his address and rules about visitation. They had to send me to at least three other people to answer each and every question. Most of the time they couldn't answer simple question such as what are vsiting days.
I got a little short tempered after the tenth transfer and asked the Bimbo is everyone employed today new on the job or what? She curtly responded, "The prisoner knows the rules"

Why do they always tell me that when they don't know the answer?

I'm glad Richard knows the rules but that does not help me!

As we have seen before things mean different things in different prisons, if that note came from out here, David is right its code. Family is your gang or the guys you ride with both ends means inside & outside. so what he would be saying is;

He will get you the paper work (could be legal, or paper work showing someone is a rat or affiliated with a rival gang, etc), as soon as he gets a response, & don't forget the family (gang) will take care of things inside or on the streets.

Sitting on the fat, is like living large, doing good, etc.

Now thats what it would mean here, in another state it might mean something else.---------Ken

In Michigan 'family' used in this context would mean your gang or your homeboys; 'sittin on fat' means you've got someone who takes care of you and you're living large.
