I have posted similar threads before, but I am very proud of my boyfriend.

I have only been hanging around the PTO forum for a little over a week, but reading threads and posts have brought tears to my eyes and make me choke up several times. It is amazing to see the support people give and receive here. I wish society as a whole could be more like us.:grouphug:

My boyfriend spent 4 years in NCI in Caldwell, OH for agg. vehicular homicide. He was 3 years PRC. However, he only did 1 year because he was keeping it real with his PO. He has been out since Dec. 2002. He's doing well, attends AA regularly, working 2 jobs, helping me with my 2 daughters and with dealing with life in general. He is teaching me to appreciate what I have because it can be gone in the blink of an eye. He went to college at Muskingum College and Muskingum Technical while he was at NCI. After his release, he finished his associate's degree at Southern State Community College here where we live south of Columbus, OH. He now has a degree in business management and Computer technologies.

I wish everyone the best and hope to hear from you soon.

God, I am so inspired...now I have someone to brag about if he can turn his life around anyone can, he is a good example for those who come close to giving up on life after being released from prison. Thanks for sharing, in this moment I am uplifted...thanks for sharing...this is good medicine...

You also uplift me. My bf were sitting together here at the computer and it is therapy for us to do this together. It gets us talking about things. He knows how happy it makes when when people respond as you did. An ex-offender gets stepped on all the time by people and haters, they can come here and get a dose of,"good job, keep up the good work, and we still love you." That's what it's all about. Keeping each other strong so we can support our loved ones whether they are in or out.

Love ya,
