Ok so I saw my hunny today and he advised he recieved a letter from the superintendent giving us approval to get married!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Ok but here is my question.. what happens now? do they contact me? do i contact them??? Can someone help me!!!!!!!:)

I am sorry that I do not know the answer to your question as to how you get married in NY... But I am sure if you call up to the prison and speak to the Chaplain he or she could answer all your questions...

Girl, There supposed to send you some paper work that u got to fill out (telling them u know about his charges) You send it back in. Then u got to wait 90 days. Then U got to apply to get a marriage liscence. Dont do it to early though... Then he has to fill out a questionare and send it back in a week before the date u all supposed to get married. You have to have both birth certificates. Have to find a minister, rings can't be more then 35 and u have to have a reciept. Girl there is alot u gonna have to do. Good luck........ Congrats. The counselor in charge of marriage ceremonies will meet with your husband to be. He will give your contact info to the counselor and she will contact you through mail usually. Then you have to call the counselor and they will inform you of all the charges and possible release dates. Don't be surprised if they are rude or question you a lot like "Are you sure?" I've experienced that and people have shared that same experience. Then normally the day before the ceremony you will go get the marriage certficate right at the prison and pay for the actually ceremony. It costed like $110 total plus you bring his ring in that day. The next day you are husband and wife simple as that. Congratulations to you hopefully this is helpful. If you have any more questions PM me.
