Prisoner at Connally Unit (Texas) Requests Help

Noe "Chac-Mul" Infante #527682, Connally Unit, 899 FM 632, Kenedy, TX 78119
Greetings in health, peace, happiness, prosperity and freedom. I am a Native American prisoner, who is indigent and would appreciate any type of resources, books (traditional), reading, guidance and advice.

I am one of the Native American Brothers on this unit in need of a medicine bag and a feather, etc. Medicine bags must be addressed to the Chaplain's Office at the address above. Please include a letter requesting that the medicine bag be forwarded to Noe Infante and that the proper property papers are inside the package.

Any information and support will be appreciated. I am part Azteca (Aztec Indian).

May the Great Spirit protect and guide you all!

Date: 8/2/2003

From NAPS

Note from Toi Ama: If you are thinking of providing a medicine bag, please contact the inmate first to be sure he hasn't already gotten one and to find out how to send in other items.

I'll write him also, this makes 3 from this forum, they are all in different facilities. I've been scouting around for some new pen pals, something brought me this way.

if anyone knows , the 3 inmates on this page I said I would write to, can I send them stamps with the first letter? Are stamps allowed to be sent this way. I write to an inmate in N.C. and it wasn't allowed, my stamps were returned.
thanks for any info

Careful, there are many different organizations and books out there that have little to do with mexicayotl. They are infiltrated with eurocentric ideologies that were never a part of the mexica culture. Even some of our own people are stuck on those ideologies. Its difficult to weed out the bad apples. But if you can find information with little to no european interpretations then I think those would be good to send. The reason I say this is because from he beginning misunderstandings and flat out lies have been written into the history of my people. Sorry if this offends anyone. I just think its important to realize that there was many incorrect documentations that have never been corrected in the history books. My history and the history they teach are two very different things. I think that is the case in many indigenous tribal histories. Either genocide was sugarcoated or justified.

I guess I'm confused... But I accept your apology. I don't exactly know how my post could have been taken "wrong" when I was just pointing out that the many mexicayotl items you can send may be tainted by incorrect information, because I see it all the time. And if this man is looking to seek his culture, it should be the true culture of his people and not another culture's interpretations of it as seen in the codexes and in many websites that claim to know the ways of the mexica people. But I'll drop it. Obviously, you didn't understand my meaning at first.

I see now what your saying, but I have no knowledge of his culture, and how will I know that I am sending him truthful things? any suggestions?

I wonder, do they allow you to send books? If not, maybe you can get a book and photocopy the pages--for educational purposes only--and send them. Try sending and also reading, "We Will Rise" by Kurly Tlapoyawa. I'm sending some items off of Kurly's site that I'm a member of. You might want to check it out www.mexika.org it has some study materials and we also do a prison project. So, hopefully we can get some stuff out to him. Also, see www.nahuatl.info a good language site for our native language and also discussions. www.mexicauprising.com and www.sixthsunrising.com. These are good starts. And if you and I both send him the same things on accident its all good. Make him study twice as much or find a hommie to study with. LOL.

I should also mention that on many indigenous sites there is a mentality that this land was stolen from our ansestors, which is basically true. So, if you encounter some hostile words from people on forums don't be offended. For the most part, the sites I mentioned aren't like that, I just thought I'd give you a heads up... Good luck and thanks for your interest in this.

I wrote to 3 inmates from this forum, this page, Joe Galindo,Esperidian J. Herrera, and Noe Infante. I don't know how much help I will be for them. At least if they have no contact at all with the outside, they will now. I asked how is their health and treatment. I sent a few printed out material. Would have sent stamps, but they are not allowed that way. If you have any suggestions at all, I appreciate your suggestions. I will check out the sites you gave links too, and maybe find some printable stuff.

I received a letter today from Noe, and he stated he waited app. a year or so to hear from anyone, and felt blessed to get my letter. He is in good health and being treated ok, and I was glad to hear that. I know what he needs, and what he is allowed and plan on hookin him up with some of these things. I am glad I found this guy here, and I think we will be great pen pals.

I just want to say thank you to Toi. I have recieved my first letter from Noe. Much to my delight, I opened the letter and found enclosed my beloved Anawak--photos of the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon. He entrusted them to me so that I can make a copy and return to him the originals. I am so honored. I have not yet had the privelege to visit Tenochitlan and I recieved my first glimpse enclosed in a letter. I couldn't help it, I started to cry!

Anyways, thanks Toi.:D
