I am due to report to FMC Carswell on Feb 5, 2007. Can I bring cartons of cigarettes to hold me over until I get to shop for some?

The entire federal prison system is now nonsmoking. You won't be allowed to keep the cigarettes, plus they are not sold at the commissary any more. You might think about quitting smoking now, before you have to report.

I quit smoking about 9 months ago knowing that I'd have to quit once I entered the system.

Now I'll get to spend my time inside losing the 40 pounds I gained from quitting smoking :D

Congratulations on quitting smoking and good luck with your weight loss! I hope that what you ate that resulted in that weight loss tasted really good!!!

My son had one cigarette when he went in (9/07) decided it wasn't worth the risk (time in the 'hole', 'shots' or 'points' that can end up sending you to a higher security facility.) He's been smoke free since then and is healthier and happier (and was so glad to move away from smoking 'cellies')
