My son went to diagnostics on tuesday. How soon are they allowed to call from diagnostics? And will MCI let the first calls thru till it reaches a certain limit then block until we get prepay?

And will MCI let the first calls thru till it reaches a certain limit then block until we get prepay? ittybittykitty 01-17-2007, 11:54 PM Not sure on the how soon....I would go ahead and get MCI set up and not have to wait when he gets transfered,they take their sweet time.Plus I think when he goes to a unit he has to turn in your number and get approval thru the ADC, they can only call approved numbers on their list.Kitty :) UBO 01-18-2007, 12:26 AM I did get his commissary money in already. I just signed up for MCI as long distance carrier but I think I will still have to do prepay. I am not sure how much longer MCI will be the carrier for the prisons. I haven't heard anything new lately. JimmysBabyGirl 01-18-2007, 09:00 AM My husband got to the Diagnostic unit on a Monday and he was able to call on Wednesday. I called the unit a few times and they told me it would take 4 to 6 days to get him set up, but it only took 2. The number for MCI Inmate Services is 1-800-804-3385. I verified the cost and they said the connection fee is $3.65 then .34 per min. I have not gotten my first bill yet, but I'm really worried about it. But it's so hard to have to go several days without talking to him. I've learned from reading some of the other posts that the call amounts will go down soon. I'm really glad to hear that. A HUGE thank you to anyone who had anything to do with that!!!!!!!! |
