I went back in forth on this I find a nice skrit set, then and birdemaid dress, then today I went to the bridal shop and there it was under $200, no train sleek and elgent.

So the answer will be YES YES YES its still my day and I wearing a real dress no matter how out of place everyone my think i supposed to be. I GOING TO BE A BRIDE 2/15/07.

I got married on January 8, 2008. I wore this dress on my wedding day: http://cgi.ebay.com/Bridesmaids-Dresses-Formal-Gown-Modest-Prom-Lisa_W0QQitemZ140054797826QQihZ004QQcategoryZ3262Q QcmdZViewItem

I purchased the white dress, a white pearl earrings & necklace set. Everyone at the prison said I looked beautiful and it passed the dress code rules. (I wore a blue cami underneath to match his blue stripes on his white uniform. :D )

If you don't mind a suggestion from a guy (who has a friend who runs a bridal shop): provided you are dealing with a prison that doesn't have restrictions on wearing white (yes, some do), you might want to try a shop that handles LDS (Mormon) temple dresses. These are white, floor-length, modest in style, and generally modest in price (well under $200) as such things go.

I believe there are several shops online which carry these--try a Google search. Why not save a few bucks and have a lovely day? You'll brighten up the whole place and your fiance will never forget it.

I'm curious to know because like you said it's your day and you wouldn't have it any other way. I'm just curious to know.I already had a beautiful princess style wedding gown real poofy and everything. people were saying that there wedding was on a regular visit and they had to sit in visiting center waiting hours to be married and go to the prison chapel. My husband is in a fed prison camp and rules may be more accomodating there in Duluth, Minnesota. I'm waiting on him to get my letter and give me his input on what he wants me to wear. He said that he went to an inmates' wedding there in the summer of 2006 but didn't say much else about the attire worn by groom or bride. I think I will call his counselor and talk to him about this:thumbsup: .

its your day! if you want to wear a real gown with train and veil then wear it. So what if you have a regular visit. Just think of it as your reception and you had a huge wedding with alot of guest lol. Would be no different than having a traditional wedding where all of his out of town relatives showed up and you have never met him and hell some of them probably he never even met. Maybe its just me but I could care less of what people think of me or what I wear. they dont buy my clothes and dress me. Congratulations though on your upcoming wedding.

I believe that you sure wear whatever you want for your wedding day. What other people may think should not be your concern as long as it passes the dress code. Make you and your soon to be hubby happy and f*** what everybody else may think!!

How do the weddings go in prison? is it a long process up to the actual day?

It really depends on which facility you are at and what their procedures are. Sorry every facility is different.

I have seen Women come in full stretch Limos, the Bridesmaids, the wedding dress, veil, Mother of the Brides dress, Groomsmen, the works.

It was absolutely beautiful and they brought a Tux for the husband, but he had to give it back to them to take after the Ceremony, but hey if you want to look like a beautiful blushing bride, I say go for it.

I went on, and as he suggested, did a google search and there was a website (Cowning Jewel Apparel) it has a dress "Laura" I bought in on sale for less than $60 :D and that is what I will be wearing on my wedding day. It's cute, modest and in compliance with any and all ress code regulations

i was married in the county jail to the man of my dreams, i was thinking about wearing a wedding dress but then i thought to myself "how nad would he feel if we were all dressed up and he had to wear his county blues?" so i just wore normal stuff and plan on going all out on the wedding when he comes home. but i dont see anything wrong with wearing a wedding dress, it is your day and all so i would do whatever makes you happy!!!

good luck!!

I was going to recommend the LDS wedding or lately the prom dresses, very modest (to pass regs) and always in good taste. Beautiful wedding once again.

Yes, I did and my Husband was thrilled!!! This day belongs to you and your Husband so If you want to wear a wedding dress you should do it. Don't for a second worry about what others will think. I was also able to bring him dress clothes to change into.:)
