I am a student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technologies (EPFL) and I am conducting a research on prison architecture in NYC. The DOC won’t let me access the plans of most facilities. I believe that these plans should be know to the public.

I am at the moment trying to draw the plans of the VCBC with the help of “insiders”. If you have been inside and have interest in this project, you could maybe draw a schematic plan of the VCBC based on your memories (or a description). This should only take a couple minutes and would be of a great help. You can send it via email, mail or fax. I will then try to interlace the different documents I have to produce plans.

If you know someone (inmate, visitor, social worker, etc.) who has been inside, please let me know; I would love to contact them.
