Does any1 have any info about Bastrop in Tx? Ive read a few things about the programs they offer n etc but im lookin for info about more personal experiences please anythin will help ty

I to would like to know if anyone is familiar with the Low at Bastrop.

My husband is almost thru his first month at Camp Bastrop so we are very new to this. Ask me any questions. He's already told me that some of the campers actually prefer the low-side, because it's more structured. Neither side has any safety issues. Anything else please post.

what about education? my friend wants to take college classes by correspondence.....but i am not sure where to start looking......please help!!!

My husband spent 2 years in Bastrop.. It was a pretty good place. He got a job at Unicor and really like the money. He made alot of friends there to. I went and visited 3 times. The visits are very structured. One time they wouldn't let a couple in because they used the laser hand drug thing on them and it come back positive. The couple was like 80 years old. Come to find out it was broken. But the couple was gone by then.

I have a loved one at the Satellite Camp at Bastrop. Feel free to ask me any questions about that part of the facility.

FYI, the Satellite Camp has very little in the way of formal programs.

FYI... I hear the Bastrop Camp had a big "shake down" last week, looking for contraband. I'm told it wasn't that big a deal, but that the CO seemed to be focusing on a list of certain people.

Unfortunately, that's all I know. Haven't heard of any fall out from it.

All visitation has been canceled at FCI Bastrop for this weekend due to Hurricane Ike. As of last night, the Satellite Camp inmates had been told there is an evacuation plan in place, but had not been evacuated.

MY BOYFRiEND iS AT BASTROP CAMP HES BEEN THERE ABOUT A YEAR NOW AND i KNOW HE PREFERS THE LOW SiDE BUT THE ViSiTS AT THE CAMP ARE ALOT BETTER ANY OF YOU HAVE LOVED ONES THERE i WOULD LOVE TO KNOW OTHER PEOPLE THAT KNOW iNMATES THERE SO SEND ME A MESSAGE :)
