Does anyone one know what is going on with D Yard??? I called the counselor for D yard today and he said they might be on lockdown throughout the weekend again!!!

:mad: I dont know about D ,but my fiance is in C and says they have been in lockdown 24/7 for almost 3 weeks. He said the CO's are even bringing them chow. They have also stopped all of their mail. I dont know whats up, but my fiance says the men have had it . Are they really allowed to keep them locked up in their cells that long? Arnt they supposed to have a certain amount of time to exercise and get some fresh air?!?!:angry:

Even if they are on lockdown, I believe they are supposed to get at least an hour a day out of their cells. There has to be a real good reason for them to be on lockdown for this long. I would contact the prison and see what is going on. This is not right! No wonder they have been under investigation.

EandG4ever....but c yard did get to have visits this weekend right? D yard couldn't, only the gym! I'm not sure what is going on. my baby did write to me though and all he said was that everything is well and that the place is really unorganized which comes to show. i haven't heard from him since. the counselor did say that they are allowed to write and get letters...c yard has been on lockdown for 3 weeks??? that is too long! d yard has 1 week so far!

lancaster is currently under investigation? i did not know this.

What is going on up there????:confused: I was not aware that Lancaster was under investigation either? How long has that been going on? and what for? I recieved 4 letters from my honey today. He said that they also have been being denied showers. He said that he and his bunky have had 2 showers in 2 weeks!!! He also said that they rarely get mail.( Every 5 or 6 days.) Now even though it takes 10days to 2 weeks for him to get my mail , I get his the day after the postmark!! (I am only about 30 min from the prison) So this isnt old news!! Who can I contact about this ?!:angry: no wonder they have such a problem with disease !!! My Gosh!! I am thinking about contacting the ACLU. My only concern is any reprecussions that might fall on my honey because of it . I dont know about the visiting this weekend. I have yet to be approved(or denied) and its been quite some time. Please let me know if you hear anything else .Im really happy to talk to someone who has someone at CSP/LAC too!!

What is the ACLU? You are right though about the guard retaliation. I have always been scared of that. I called my baby's counselor only like 2 times and he told my baby that I was annoying and to stop calling. they always act so nice on the phone, but I think the truth of the matter is that they do not liked being called or questioned. maybe 1 out of 25 are really nice! it's really hard. and another thing is that they don't tell us anything! you still have not been approved to visit? how long has your guy been there? mine has been there since december 1st. they said they might be transferring him but no definite yet. housing is all mixed up there also. they are really unorganized. i would think maybe that is why they are under investigation. maybe they do a lot of things they aren't supposed to. and you are so right EandG, any info is helpful!!!

The ACLU is the American Civil Liberties Union. They Work in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend individual rights and liberties. They are a wonderful organization that help protect and fight for the rights of incarcerated persons. They are a national organization. They also help minoritys and the homeless and the list goes on. You can Visit their web site. Just punch ACLU into your browsers search box. Please let me know if you or anyone for that matter ,hears of anything else going on there. I will do the same. Oh, that is what aclu is ! i will look into it. i kind of felt disappointed by those kind of organizations because i contacted the prison law office and they told me they have soooo many cases that they can't help me with mine. i guess they look at the most important ones. i called the counselor today and he said maybe another couple of weeks! this is unbelievable. i guess all we can do is hang in there! for theirs and our sakes!!! just write, write, write!!! and hope they get our letters soon!

Is there any kind of time limit that they are allowed to be on lock down, Or is it just till whenever??? I mean they cant keep them in their cells for 6 months or anything ridiculous like that can they?

I would definitely hope not!!! But they seem as if they get away with anything and everything!!! sad for our loved ones...sad that there isn't much we can do! can I ask, how often do your guys write? i got a letter from mine on saturday but haven't got anything since! i'm getting a bit worried!

I hope They get it together soon! My Honey writes almost everyday.. usually more than one letter a day. We get a little carried away with writting sometime, but I like it. Then I have proof of all the promises hes making... just kidding.. !! I hope you hear from your guy soon! Im sure hes ok. My Honey said in todays letter that there is a lot going on there but no one is talking. He said that the CO's are not happy campers. Im guessing thats because of Arnolds new plans.. but Im not 100% sure of that either.

Hes got a lot up his sleeve. If you go to the News and Events forum, There is a link regarding one of the things hes got planned... thats cutting the budget on Prop 36.... there is a link posted regarding that issue. Its not from the Governor, but its interesting. Other than that He basically plans to just build, build and build. More jails, more schools, more roads. Reading it really has me thinking about leaving California, and I was born and raised here. Its just my opinion, but I think its time to close the golden gates.

I feel you on the leaving california part!!! California is getting insane, but I was born and raised here too, so it would be a big adjustment. If my guy wants to leave, we will. Only time will tell! thanks for the info...i will definitely check it out!
