I need some help as far as what I can send my husband. He is scheduled for sentencing on January 17th. Should I wait to hear from him as far as what he can receive? Is there someone I can talk to in advance? How do I send him money? Any and all advise is very welcome. Thank you in advance.

It all depends, where's he going? and at what level? If its a florida prison, then perhaps you should post there.

I might suggest that you post directly in the Florida area - go to main forum area and click on florida. They'll be able to give you specifics about your state. Otherwise, take a peek around and be prepared to make friends that will last a lifetime.

I'm coming to the end of an 8 year bid, so this can be done and there are folks on here who have much longer sentences and get through.

The only advice I can give is know that this will be like a roller coaster ride with all the ups and downs ahead, but love can withstand anything.

Hello and welcome. Speaking directly to him or the counselor assigned to him at the prison will be your best bet.

On the other note, sorry that your husband is going in for 10 years. I was in your boat over 9 years ago with a little less than a year left to do now. If there's anything I can do for you or if you just want someone to listen, don't hesitate to PM me.

hey welcome, i would also say to call the facility he is at and see what happens. sometimes, once he is sentenced, he will be sent somewhere else, and so there isnt time to send him stuff that he can use and you wouldnt want to lose it. good luck, i can tell you that it doesnt get any easier to accept, and you'll always be thinking about him, but it does get more bearable as time goes by and you settle into the routine. i hope that makes sense.
