alright ladies... has anyone ever had anything rejected by the Mailroom???? i haven't up untill this past week.. and he got TWO rejection slips.. all it says is who it's from (me) and that it's been rejected.. he had to pay for the postage to send it back.. i haven't gotten um back yet.. I wonder if they will enclose a reason to why they wouldn't let it through to him.
anyone else ever had this happen before?
I'm thinking maybe it was one of the magazine clippings i sent.... Not sure.. I've sent stuff like that before.. but it's no surprise.. they can change their mind about stuff day to day at that place.

I had it happpen with my friend and luckily he got ahold of me and told me why before I got them back. I Also had it happen with a penpal but they didnt return the card just sent me a a pink slip saying "No homemade cards"

I did however recieve a letter from him with the rejection slips saying why, told me to let him know if i need him to send it back.. it wasn't a "Letter" just a note with some stuff in it.. we usualy send mag clippings back and forth.. things that we see and like ya know? always made it through with no problem.. must have caught the mail lady in a bad mood this time.. who knows .....i think i know why one of um got rejected though... I cut out some stuff from the "Toy Book" from the party i went too.. HAHAHAHAHA.. they might not have liked that.. i'll just fill out the papers and he will send it back to me.. no big deal, but if it had been a REAL LETTER.. i'd of been alllllllll upset! lol

I have had two of my letters rejected. One time it was because of see thru clothing the thing is the see thru part did not show any of the parts that need to be covered(nipples,anus,vagina) so what did it matter any?
The other time which was real recently a letter was rejected because they say I forgot to put his cell # on the envelope. What really pissed me off is they gave him a notice of the rejected leter and why it was rejected. If they knew it was for him then why not just go ahead and give him the darn letter? Retarded!

I had sent two postcards instead for his birthday and they have made me know through Marcus that one were not "regulate." I don't know yet why they have not allowed him to hold it or also only to see it. I'm sure I will have many problems with all these rules. I don't often know what i can send and i grow sad me.

The "CAN" and do give them letters even if the cell # is left off SOMETIMES, if they want to...<eyeroll> it's just accorden to what day it is, what mood they are in and so forth.
As far as the post card not getting to him.. hmm.. i wonder why, usualy post cards are no problem.. was it homemade? was it HUGE? i dunno as to why it wouldn't be given to him

I just had a problem with the mail. My bf is in central Valley mccf in california. I wrote out two envelopes to send different types of mail to him. One envelope was for some motions he needed to file so i marked it "legal mail" the other was just a regularly addressed envelope. my daughter accidently put the personal mail in the legal mail envelope and mailed it for me. When they opened the legal mail and found picutres and a personal letter in it, they took away all of the letters and pictures and everything else he got in the mail since August 2006, put him in the hole and took away my visits. I was just approved for visits the day before they took them away. he got out of the hole (two days later) they made him send back a whole bunch of pictures and letters that i wrote him over the months at his cost. Such a bunch of bull$% (bull@@#$%)@t:angry: .

yeah... they are REALLLLLL understanding huh? They just don't get it... you don't break people down and get ANY good out of it back in return... those Inmate numbers... they aren't numbers.. they are PEOPLE... HUMANS... they should be treated as so, as should their famliy!

Nope no set limit on the pages a letter can be thankgoodness.. or i'd have to send out 4 or 5 parts of it ... we really write... a short letter to us now has become 20 pages LOL
on a good day we send 20 and more.. so far the longest letter i've sent is 78 pages<giggle> i love kicken his but.. he only got up to 50 something<smile>
i had wondered about something though... since there IS a limit on computer print outs.... what if you typed your letter... wonder if that would count as a "print out" and could only send in so many pages at a time... ( think it's 3 or 4 ) ... hmmm something to wonder about.

A question for the girls who know their way around the Holman mail system - if I send a letter that includes photos, and the photos are deemed too risque', will they still deliver the letter or will the whole thing get destroyed? Also, when you all have gotten rejection notices, does it have specifics or does it just say that it was rejected, end of story? I know that this isn't the kind of thing that you want to announce out in public, but have any of you ever gotten in trouble or gotten your man in trouble for concealing pictures? PM me if you don't want to post -- can you tell I am nervous about something? hahahahahaha :-) I'm just learning how things work in that mail room, and I am not liking what I am hearing about it!

if you send something with your letter .. say a photo of yourself that they say is too "risque" they will reject the whole letter.
they will send him a paper sayin a letter form ( your inital of your first name.. and then spell out your last name) has been rejected due to nudity.. or see through clothing... or what have you.... they give him the option of them throwing it away... OR he can send ever how many stamps they need to send it back to you... then you will get the whole letter bcak when ever they get around to sendin it back.. mine took a month to get back to me.
what we do ( now) is if i send him something that i think "might' catch some one on a bad day and not make it through to him.. i send it seperate from my Letter.. just put it with a little note.. that way no letter will get turned away.
as far as gotten in trouble for photos.. they just reject them.. you don't get in any trouble nor does he. but umm as for " trying to sneak a photo in that he can't have... well.. umm... they can come up with some "good" ideas on how to get them into them.... just the getting caught part i don't know about... "YET" hahahahah.. but yes the mail room has been really cracking down on things here lately...

I've had two rejected...one was "see through clothing"...which you couldn't see anything through! Crazy!

They are just so darn arbitrary down there. I got photos rejected for very MILD nudity and he's gotten books that I have sent rejected for promoting violent behavior when I personally didn't think they were that bad (like martial arts/fitness type stuff). Then, on the other hand, some of the things that HAVE made it through on both our ends are things that I just never in a million years would have thought would have made it past the mail lady. I'm learning my lesson, as Snakecharmer said, to make sure that anything all I think is questionable ONLY goes in with a little short note card or something like that.
