I have a son in Augusta State Medical Prison. I have only visited once and get to go again this Sunday. In Douglas County jail if it rained they cancelled the visitation. Do they do this in the prisons? I think they are calling for thunder storms this weekend and would hate to drive over 3 hours just to find out that we can;t visit. I would appreciate any infromation that anyone could give me.
Thanks

HI,
My husband has been in 3 different prisons this past year...and the weather has never played a part on the visitation. County jails have more control over thier own domain but all the prisons seem to be on the same page.
Hope that helps
God bless,

Thanks for the information. I have to drive 300 miles to see my son and would just die if they cancelled visitation d/t the weather. I work 12 hours on Saturday from 7pm-7am , come home and grab the family and drive the long drive to see him, get to see him for 3 hours and then drive 3 hours back, drop off the family and go straight back to work for another 12 hours. It is rough, but worth it to see my baby (19), but always a baby to me. Thanks again for your reply. Thats makes me feel alittle bit better.
