My husband is currently in Atlanta USP as a holdover waiting to be transferred to Talladega, AL FPC. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this prison. He is serving a 37month sentence for drugs. I am anxiously awaiting him to be moved because I would like him to stay in one place for awhile so I can write and visit. Hopefully he'll be able to call soon. He's been in Atlanta for 9 days and I haven't gotten a call yet. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

My man was in Talladega FCI-federal correctional Institution. I believe your man is in the Prison Camp. Camp is usually for short termers. They have more freedom on the compound. They are usually housed in like a dormatory style setting. Also, some of them go on work release. Your man will proabably not be able to call from Atlanta, because that's were all inmates go when they are in holdover status. It's very hard to get to a phone. Once he is in Talladega, he will be able to place calls. Hope this information helps.

Thanks for the reply. I found out today that I had to get connected with Correctional Billing whereas before my phone wasn't. So, hopefully I will hear from him soon, but I have heard that in Atlanta it's really hard to get phone privileges. I can't wait until he moves out of Atlanta. How long was your man there? Any advise on visitation or letter writing? Any do's or dont's? I am new to this!
