It's double the trouble for people caught with the ingredients to make crystal methamphetamine. A new part of the law goes into effect Monday that will double the jail time and fines for anyone caught with two or more precursors in the presence of children under 18 or in a hotel/motel room or apartment building. If convicted under the new law, penalties would be up to 60 years in prison and no less than a $10,000 fine.
My question is - isn't some of the ingredients common household items? Could I get 60 years for possessing the precursors - cold pills among other things?
