Well officially we have entered into year 6. I wish i could say, i see the light at the end of the tunnel.... But, alas - I do not! Not yet, anyway! My husband is still sitting in the SHU, where he gets 2 changes of clean clothes a week and waits for his mail to come through the 4 inch wide window. Unfortunately with this indeterminant SHU term, he will not be allowed visits until June.... at which time, i will visit - unsure, however, if i will HUG him - or SLUG him........

I seem o have lost my usual sense of humor about it all, today! Perhaps, i'll find it tomorrow!

Venice...it was tough for me to see any glimmer of light, as in the end of the tunnel, until this past year. It finally hit me at close to 2/3 into our time. I believe I talked with you about some of the personal choices and what not...that seemed to dim any light at points in time... Eventually it all gets better, at least thats my honest opinion and belief! June is coming...soon!

So while you don't feel your normal humerous self today, you still made me laugh with the 'heart felt' HUG'em or SLUG'em....I say slug then hug! :p

I hear the USP or atleast a unit or two within was on lock down for nearly a week...not sure what it was about. Besides that...everything is cool with us. Just playing the waiting game...still! :p It's coming!

Its funny you mention that whole 2/3's time thing. I was just thinking that we are now done with the first 1/4. That's not bad, i guess! I was looking at you ticker and thinking i bet you were stoked when you went under 5 years...... How crazy is that????

Anyway, thanks for the words of encouragement, girl. I totally appreciate it.

Over the years I've found comfort when looking at what we've accomplished compared to the big picture. I remember thinking 1/4 too...you have to reach the small points to get to the bigger ones! It always set me back when I would look at time as a whole. 1/4 is a good thing, believe that!

My ticker...girl you know I was stoked to see it roll under 5! But there is alittle glitch, lol. When I finally figured out how to use a ticker the one I choose would not go to the actual release date. It did however accept the halfway date...so mine you have to add 6 months onto for reality!

Hi all, I am not sure if I am in the right place, but I am freaking out! I guess I am just in shock. I knew it was coming, but to actually see it has made my heart just pound. My husband was moved finally, out of county. And the BOP website says Terre Haute FCI. First question, will they be taking him from Wisconsin to Oklahoma first, and then back to Indianna? Seems quite stupid to me. Do they do that in every case? Also, I know they tend to bounce people around, in the beginning anyway, so does that mean that Terre Haute might just be 1 of many stops before he gets designated? I know these may seem like silly questions, but I have 5 kids who want to know when they can see their daddy, and I just don't know what to tell them. We were hoping for a closer designation, but I am sure the BOP wants to punish the entire family.

Thank in advance for any information.

If Terre Haute was his destination...he should stay put. Not everyone will travel through OK...what you describe, it seems it was more simpler for them to take from point A to B. IN is not very far considering from WI...always remember things could/can get worse! If he keeps himself clean and on track...in time he can request a closer location.

Honestly...I don't think the BOP wants to punish the entire family, but sometimes where we stand it's hard to look past. Try to keep a positive attitude and know this is just a journey, there is light at the end!

Thanks kintml2u...I did find out that he is on holdover at FCI Terre Haute. He never went to Oklahoma City, just directly to Indiana. I do not believe that is his designation, but then again I don't know for sure because no one will talk to me about that, and I haven't heard from him yet. Anyway, I am greatful he is out of county..and I am greatful that he isn't any father away from me. We did write to BOP Designation Center asking for a SandStone MN designation, but we all know how that is not a garauntee of getting it. They did just add over 500 more beds at SandStone, so I don't believe space is an issue. The reason I don't believe he will be staying at Terre Haute is because his level is classed at Low Security, and they don't have one of those at Terre Haute. SandStone is a low facility. Anyway...thanks a bunch for the insight. I appreciate everyones kind words here. This has been a great help to me.

He should know by now if he is in federal where his destination will be if it's not Terre Haute. As soon as he is able to call...I'm sure he will let you know. This part is a real tough time...all the unknowns. Hang in there...time will tell.

:(OK everybody....I am so happy to have found this site. My brother received 14 years and was in county for 2 years. Finally was picked up and taken to Beaumont USP. He was placed in SHU at Beaumont because paperwork was being processed in the mean time an inmate was killed. So brother's paperwork not top priority ended up being in the SHU at Beaumont for 6 months. In June 2006 taken to Oklahoma for one day then transferred to Terre Haute USP. He is in SHU and cannot get any visits or commissary until August. I believe it was because he was in a fight. My question is....Is there anything that I can do to try to get him transferred back to Texas. We are in Waco, Texas and not seeing my brother has caused alot of grief for my mother. Other question....do we even want him back in Texas. I've heard many many many bad things about Beaumont USP. I have tried calling Terre Haute USP and I rarely get an answer. When I do I leave a message for counselor and never get a reply. I just don't understand why he is in USP. He has never had a felony conviction. Please anyone if you can help please respond......WORRIED IN TEXAS
