Does anyone know who the approved book vendors are for SCC? The books from Alibris.com get returned, Borders just informed me that they no longer send to correctional facilities. I tried calling the mailroom but keep getting a voice mail.

Thanks in advance!

I believe Amazon and Barnes & Noble are still approved vendors. I just sent a book through Amazon a few months ago.

Hi!
My son was just transferred to SCC. Are books allowed to be sent at any time (through B & N or Amazon)? Are there limits to how many at a time and content? I'm assuming paperback, no spiral, etc. They don't count as a quarterly or special purchase, right?
Thanks for your info. It's great to hear it from those who have dealt with it.

Check out the SCC GUIDE (http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202974). There is a section about packages and books. Also call the mailroom - (209) 984-5291, extension 5400. Someone in the mailroom will be able to tell you how many books you are allowed to send. The amount of books that inmates are allowed to receive are DIFFERENT FOR EVERY PRISON, so it is a must that you call and find out.

I've sent two at a time and from Barnes and Noble with no problem.
