Like many of you, I thought I had married a good man. All that changed in October 2005, when my ex-husband flew into a rage and tried to violently kill me. He held-off the SWAT team for 5 hours. In February, Paul was sentenced to 10 years in prison with no chance of parole. Divorcing him was the hardest thing to do, but I had to do it for my own safety. Each day I try to get on with my life, knowing he is looking forward to finishing the task.

My heart goes out to you, I divorced a man after 20 years that left me dying in ICU. The situtation was a lot different from yours but it has taken me 6 years to final move on. The mear mention of his name makes my skin crawl but I came out a stronger person for it and the man I have fallen in love with knows that there is a lot of baggage left from the abuse but he works with me and is patient. And trust me you will move on, just take one day at a time and you will be surprised how strong you have and will become. And when he comes out you will not be the same women and he might want to watch out for you. You just keep strong....
