Jonathan 12-20-2006, 07:04 AM You may want to check our education forum here on PTO. Also all ex-convicts are eligible for the Pell Grant - or fafsa. However if you were convicted of a drug offense you are not eligible. Brian Rooney 12-21-2006, 03:00 PM I received grants like Jonathan said when I forst got out. Any drug offenders are not eligible. After I started making too much money, I was not eligible, but I would also suggest looking at the school you go to. There are grants and scholarships for people who apply. I received a $5,000 last semester from one of George Mason's scholraships awards...many of these awards are not claimed or applied for...believe me, I have received a ton of money, and it has worked out okay. boflipflops36 12-21-2006, 08:59 PM Brian, Who is George Mason? My grandson needs some help going to college!! Maybe he can apply also. Brian Rooney 12-24-2006, 10:04 PM George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia...it is the largest university in the state. frkydaze 06-04-2007, 07:56 PM Thats interesting I thought being in prison @ all you werent eligible for any grants or loans or anything..
