Hello all! My husband is in Douglas and I live in NY. It will be a yr next month since I've gotten to see him last. Does anyone know why there is no picture taking in Douglas? In NY there is a person in the visiting room with a polaroid. Before you go into the visiting room you are able to purchase picture tickets. They are about $2 a photo. They had nothing like this when I was there to visit. My best friends brother is in prison in NY and he sends pictures home all of the time. It's nice to be able to see how our loved ones look when we are unable to visit, and make sure they are ok. Has anyone ever wondered why there are no photos allowed? Is it just in Douglas?

There is no picture taking at Lewis facility either. In fact, we are not supposed to even have a camera in the car with us when we visit -- we aren't allowed to take pictures of the outside of the facility either.
I think it is that way for the entire ADOC.

No pictures in Eyman. Inmates can't have any polaroids in their possession. They are extremely strict on visitations. I've never been watched like they do. If you stop to adjust your pants, you'd think you were mooning them. The whole place is a disaster...

It is suppose to be a security thing! No one in AZ can have a picture. I think that it stinks! What about the kids who NEED pictures of their parents? I guess they figure that it is not their problem and it is part of their punishment!

Yeah it's a whole az no picture thing. I guess they used to have polaroids that the inmates could take of themselves every month and send out to whoever they want. But they did away with that.

Hello! Thanks to everyone who replied to my post regarding no prison pics! I was wondering if anyone uses this Tele-Net thing for the collect calls. I'm wondering if its too good to be true. Right now a 15 min call from my husband costs me $17.60 per call. This Tele-Net thing gave me an estimate of an average of $4.25 per call! Is anyone else using this? Or has anyone heard anything about it? I'm wondering if its for real or if I'm going to get screwed with hidding charges or fees! Thanks everyone and I hope your loved ones are safe and sound! :)

I have heard that alot of people save money on this. If you are out of state. I live in state so it isn't good for me. So personally I don't know, just know what I have heard. Haven't heard of hidden charges! Only good things! Hope that helps!

I heard they quit allowing photo's to be taken a few yrs ago because it was "to costly" So with our new director now let's all hope she brings it back, It is so unfair for families of inmates not to be able to have pic's especially those that live out of state and don't get to see their loved ones

At FCI Tucson my bf can buy tickets from comminsary and take pictures on saturdays. He said he's sending me some for my birthday. He's 500 miles away so I can't visit often.

I'm not sure about taking pictures in the visiting room though.

I think it is this way for hte entire ADOC. I always thought it was "weird" not to let the inmates have a way to take the pics, but then I heard somewhere that inmates can document injuries like that, so they got rid of it??

we can take pictures we take 12 to 20 pictures at a time and we split them and that way we can look at them and remember what we are like togeather and it helps us cope with us being apart.
