Great news!
Tony has had his death sentence commuted as a result of his appeals.
He is now looking at 33 yrs, but hopefully he can be transferred back to the UK as soon as possible.
I will be visiting him next week, so will give you an update then!
HOORAY - it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!

Tony was very well when I saw him and pleased with his change in status.
He was still in shackles but was hoping that they were coming off soon.
Sadly our visit was cut short (no reason given) so I did not get full details of the time he was expecting to serve, but it still looks pretty lengthy.
He has also been handed down a hefty fine to pay, which is bizarre as he has been in prison for years and has no money to his name, but he is hopeful that on appeal he may get this struck off.
Anyway, he was well and smiling - as always.
A lovely guy.

Yup, you can send him photos (not polaroids), books, magazines etc.
Don't send money or stamps to him as that is considered contraband.
