MightGoMightNot 12-11-2006, 03:17 AM Amazingly stupid decision.
He's in that 5% of FPC inmates who have no idea how fortunate they are to be there and are destined to serve their sentences at a higher security facility.
rottn 12-11-2006, 05:05 AM FPC....FCI, what was he thinking??
kintml2u 12-11-2006, 05:25 AM Amazingly stupid is putting it light!
My favorite all time 'escape story', though...he really wasn't planning on running far, lmao, is the 'Big Mac' article.
Do a search here in the federal forum for 'Big Mac'....that one was priceless!
marcus30 12-13-2006, 07:15 PM Assuming he gets caught, he will get an added 5 yrs to his sentence along with being shipped to the USP (I believe). I was present when 2 inmates escaped from FPC Nellis, dumb move. They turned the camp upside down.
sandra8376 12-19-2006, 08:32 PM Not to mention the fact that an incident like this adds more negativity to the fight for federal parole...it saddens me when people don't realize that even though you're in prison, camp is as good as it gets.
JaysgirlSS 12-19-2006, 09:28 PM The inmate who escaped was caught.
kintml2u 12-22-2006, 05:44 AM The inmate who escaped was caught.
Yeah, the article stated that. Looks like he never made it out of Terre Haute.
JaysgirlSS 12-29-2006, 12:07 AM My boyfriend is an inmate at the camp.
In my opinion the inmated who "escaped" was not too bright. All he did was add more time to sentence.
Yeah, the article stated that. Looks like he never made it out of Terre Haute.
greyghost 12-29-2006, 09:29 PM Here is 'stupid' - True story -
Inmate 'escaped' (or as it is more accurately called - walked away from a camp), on the morning of his scheduled release. He was apprehended 3 weeks later and awarded an additional 3 1/2 year sentence. And... believe it or not, he was a fairly intelligent man (except for the escape).
kintml2u 12-30-2006, 05:12 AM Ghost...Happy New Year! Always a fresh sight to see you pop in!
That is a stupid thing...he must not have wanted to go home! :D I just do not understand...I mean you done your time, why walk off? Temptation is a hard one sometimes but even I think I could have waited a few hours! :p Do you know if the rate of walk aways are high in a HWH placement? I've always been curious about that one.
rottn 12-30-2006, 06:41 AM Maybe he reached a point where he was institutionalized. That's the only reason that comes to mind for me.
JaysgirlSS 12-30-2006, 06:18 PM I'm sure that the inmate wanted to go home. He clearly couldn't wait until he went home to enjoy certain "activities" that those who are home enjoy.;)
kayteeandjeremy 12-30-2006, 06:21 PM My favorite "escapes" are written in the book "The Hot House- Life inside Leavenworth prison by Pete Earley"

I miss a lot of 'activities' too that we shared together at home...but I'd kick his ass back to the prison for the officials if he walked away just hours shy of being able to come home so that we could enjoy those 'activities' for a long period of time, like the rest of our lives verses what...a few quickies? :p
greyghost 12-31-2006, 09:49 PM He simply didn't believe that he was going to be released. He thought that other states were after him (wrong) so he hit the road.
Apparantly, he has somethings (other yet undiscovered actions) that he is afraid will come back to 'haunt' him.
