:twocents: Does any one know anything about Donavan prison in San Deigo
Ca. I want to move down there in march or april of 2007. My
husband is being transfered there soon. I would like to find a
place near the prison if possible. I have a few medical problems
so traveling is somewhat of a problem for me. please someone
let me know so I can start working on this now.

Thank you, dens2

It is hard to recommend an area to move to without knowing your preferences. Donovan is right at the international border. Chula Vista , La Mesa and National City are the areas that come to mind. As far as the needs of your family life, school needs for children, shopping areas, medical conveniences, demographics, employment opportunities (and I have to say crime rates,) please do your homework before making ghte move. We have such mixed communities and there are many more goo than bad.

Good Luck

I have been here in San Diego county for over 32 years. You will find the best deal on rentals, medical, etc. in Chula Vista, which is still pretty close to Donovan.

That is where I would recommend too. I would stay east of the 805 if you can.

Well girl I was born and raised in San Diego and out of personal experience I could honestly tell you to do your research cause I have seen it all first hand. I wouldn't move any where near the prison try to stay away from San Diego areas like Market St, Logan Ave, and East Side cause thats considered more like DA hood. Try places more like La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Imperial Beach, El Cajon, Santee, or even La Jolla there are a little safer i guess you can say cause as for SD, Chula Vista, National City and San Ysidro well I wont say nothing bad but its not the greatest place to live, don't get me wrong Cause I live in South East SD but that is exactly why I'm telling you to try to stay away from those ares.
Take Care Ms. Tee

Hello, my son just got transferred to Donovan this year. I haven't been able to visit yet. Can anyone give me information on visiting procedures. I know at Lancaster we had to line up early in the morning to get in the first group. Any information would be appreciated. God Bless.
