I am trying to find out how work centers are.....what do they do there....can anyone give my some input in regards to this. I am especially interested about the one in Tulsa.

Ok I can help somewhat Terry just got transferred to a work center recently here is what I have been able to find out so far you guys know me and my information gathering LOL. A work center is basically like a 1/2 way house but they do not et quite as many freedoms they have an outside job but do not get paid. they are allowed street clothes but they have to be certain colors and such so call and ask they get weekly trips to the store grocery and such. It is a step to intergrate them back towards the free world. Terry said he just about freaked out the first trip out in public but he is getting aqdjusted to it I will add more info as I can find it out, Hpes that helps OH yeah visitation seems to be a lot laxer to.

Praise Hi I have had a little more time to get the dirt on the work centers here in Oklahoma First off once they reach a work center you are allowed to send them in a package once a month. like I said the clothes have to be in certain colors and stuff. I have been able to send Terry white or gray t-shirts, boxers, socks, sweats, thermal underwear, and shorts. I hjave been able to send him in work shirts in light blue or gray that are button up and long sleeve for the coming cold weather. But be fore warned anything they wear over the white t-shirts they will be reguired to mark with the word inmate. So dont send in very expensive things. They can have jeans, kahkis, and dress pants. NOTHING casn have a logo of any kind on it. I sent Terry Wrangler jeans and they made him cut the logo off. Where he is at you have an approved food list and magazine list you can send in and they are allowed to get stamps, paper, envelopes and such as regular daily mail. The hygeine items they are pretty relaxed about except when it comes to the shaving creams and colonges and after shaves. you will have to call and get the facility he is shipped tos specifics about what they allow.

Visits where Terry is are alot more relaxed but they are shorter,. I was used to getting 8 hours all in one day but here they only visit 10:30 to 2:30 each weekend day so it is strange there since it is still 1 1/2 hours from the house one way I cant afford top go both days. The guys are allowed to do hobby cratfts and like I said they get weekly trips to the store and they are working at a job out in the public and are given alot more freedom to do their jobs and such like a free person.

Thank you Momma Hen. We are still waiting to hear from the Judge to lessen my husbands sentence. Once that happens he will qualify for a workcenter. We are praying for Muskogee or Tulsa.

We got the minutes sent to Boley yesterday and we are in the works of getting him moved to a workcenter. We want him to go to Muskogee......please give me ALL the details about Muskogee :)

praise, the work center in tulsa is cool my fiance is there now hes been there for over a yr now but wat mommahen was sayin is true its real laid back. u can bring food from restraunts grocieries street clothes they dont really trip on the clothing the guys have there twice a week on tues. n thurs they take the inmates to the dollar store n smoke shop. they are even allowed to go to church n u can meet them at church.

Thanks tulsalilmomma. My husband was sent to Muskogee CCC and it is really nice like Skunkette explained. No fence, razor...it is a change. I got to meet Skunkette and her man and they are great people! I know Tulsa would have been closer, but 45 miles isn't too bad. This place is laid back too and my husband is loving the pizza he gets about every other weekend!!
