Has anyone gotten a call from Atwater? Has anyone heard about a lockdown? No call since Monday afternoon. My friend's man has been consistent in call and no calls. Could there be a lockdown?

Phone Minutes???? What does this mean? I hear about a "point" system, but this is ALL foreign. Can someone direct me? Please Thanks in advance

If you call...they more then likely will not answer a simple 'Is the prison on lock down' question. The majority will not give you a straight answer...you can beat around the bush sometimes and figure it out.

Phone minutes...federal prisons only allow for 300 minutes of phone time per month with the exception of November and December...they get a bonus making it 400 minutes.

Points are often talking about visitation....each place carries out a different layout but as an example if an institution allows for 9 visiting points a month. Mondays thru Fridays may count as 1 point (no matter how many visitors), Saturday and Sundays count as 2 points. So...with 9 points, you can split it up however but after you burn those points in a month, no more visits until the following month.

My sweetie is in Atwater too and I have not heard from him since Monday either. I had thought that he was just out of phone money but a lockdown does sound more resonable. They have had 2 allmost week long lockdowns since October. The first because of someone burning someone with boiling hot baby oil, hence no more baby oil or microwaves. The second one because of a riot over a sports program of some sort. My baby's sister passed away last Saturday night and we talked 4 times Sunday and once early Monday but not since, so a lockdown does sound more like what is going on.

just called over there today and they would not say that they were on "lockdown" only that there is "no inmate movement" until further notice. Later I got a letter saying that someone got into a fight and stabbed a CO.

'no inmate movement' can be taken as yes there is a lockdown. Just read between the lines.

Something else...if they say there will be no visiting, thats usually a good read between the lines sign.
