Joy 06-26-2002, 08:19 AM Shortie... I just turned 44 years old in April and just got my Bachelors in Business last December. It's an awesome feeling to finish a dream. But what really made me proud, was to see my two daughters in the audience cheering me on. I havn't done some great things in my life, but the one showing my girls not to quite on your dreams no matter how old or who tries to stop you is the best thing that I have ever done. I'm proud of you for going back. It's a hard struggle, but one that is well worth it. :) DJohnson 06-26-2002, 08:43 AM I am happy for you Shortie that you are going back to school!! Have fun in school. vnvdvc 06-26-2002, 03:25 PM Creamyalmondz, I will ask my mom about more grant info. She has worked at our community college for about 15+ years so she should have something! I don't know how much of it will pertain to your state but I am sure she has lots of fed grant info. I will e-mail her tonight and see what she has. Shortie 06-26-2002, 08:02 PM Sherri I am going to Northwood University in Dallas.. I am so excited I submited all the papers and got my aceptance letter. It feels so good and I am really interested in going all the way to a ph.d but we will see.. Let me start this thing and go from there. Shortie 06-26-2002, 08:04 PM creamy I am not sure what type of college you are going too but if it is state college or city college you can get state level grants that you do not have to pay back.. If it is private like most universities the federal is all they accept in most cases.. just talk to the financial aid advisor and go from there.. Shortie 06-26-2002, 08:05 PM thank you everyone for your support I am sure it will come in handy when I get on here and ask why I did this to myself. LOL sherri13 06-27-2002, 08:44 AM whne you see your kids clapping for you as you walk down the aisle and get your degree, it will all be worth it Steve&kids 06-27-2002, 12:59 PM Go to any State College and find the Financial Aid office. They have all types of grants avaliable.Steve&kids |
