Hey guys. I live in Ontario, Canada, and I'm currently on a house arrest sentence (5 months to go) which will be followed be 12 months probation. I'm 17 years old, and was convicted of armed robbery. I'm just curious, will this make it impossible for me to ever own a firearm? I know I can't have any during my probation..well I plan on joining the army, and in case I joined while I was on probation (which I can't), the judge made it clear that I'd be allowed firearms if it was for a job. I believe he only made this apply to the probation period.

I'm not in some huge rush to go out and get a gun or anything, lol.. just curious :) !

I think that you would want to ask this question to your Parole Officer? Or go back to the Judge...

If he said that a job related firearm was within reach then I would imagine that it would not be an issue.

I also think that there is a big difference between 'owning' a firearm and having one supplied to you by The Canadian Armed Forces? I don't know on this one but it may be a technicality....
