Just got bad news from correctional billing that may be of interest to many.
If your correctional facility phone charges are paid with your monthly phone bill then this affects you!
Whatever your spending limit per billing cycle was, this is now the spending limit for 90 days.
For example:
If your limit is $250/month and you usually spend $220 of this a month, now you have to make $250 last for 3 months now instead of 1.
The only way to circumvent this is to call correctional billing(CB) on a regular basis and pay them directly. Because if it is reported to the phone company it is deducted from your 90 day limit. And....they report to the phone company every 72 hours!!!!!!!!
Meaning.........If you use $100 in 10 days and they have reported $60 of this to the phone company, you call CB and pay $40 to them before they report the remainder to the phone company. (But there is a catch!) Since $60 has already been sent to the phone company, your new balance for the remainder of the 90 day period is only $190 for 80 more days.
Confusing, I know. I kept the customer service guy on the phone 20 minutes explaining it to me.
I was very ticked when I ended that call.:angry: :(
