I heard that they are off lockdown over there... Does anyone know if that is true? I read here that they may have been locked down until the New Year... But then somebody told my man they were not anymore AND all this talk about all the windows breaking? Someone told my man that they havent fixed the windows so if it rains it will rain right on you if your near one??? Any answers would help me to either worry less or know the truth!

Thanks:o

My son is in DVI reception but he just wrote and said they replaced the windows last week. They turned on the heat too so now they are not cold and damp there. The section my son is in is not on lockdown. They got off about 2 weeks ago or more. :o

I called the CDC # 800-374-8474, prompts 1, 4, 3; and as of Nov. 17th, only northern hispanics housed in reception E, G, H and mainline Z dorm and C wing are on "modified program" Lockdown. Hopefully this helps.

I finally got approved to visit... is it hard to get an appointment? I've never visited DVI before... anything I need to know? Since I will be visiting behind glass do I have to be careful of wearing an underwire bra? Are jeans ok? He is in reception center. Can I bring pictures in to show him? How early do I need to be there? Thanks for all the help

Congrats!! Visitng is fairly easy at DVI. No UNDERWIRE Bra's, NO blue or black Jeans, NO white t-shirts.You CAN NOT wear any colors that the inmates or CO's wear, blue, green, white or orange. Do not bring anything with you other than your ID, they will hold your car keys for you. I think you can bring a few pictures as long as they are NOT poloriod. You will need to start calling at 8am Thursday moring for a Saturday visit. And 8am Friday morning for a Sunday visit. Visiting # 209-830-3900. It has taken me anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to finally get through. I just keep hitting re-dial. They will ask for his CDC # and your name, then they give you a time to be there. I get there about 20-30 minutes before my appointment time just to be on the safe side!! Most of the CO's are friendly. I have yet to run acrossed a mean one. But we all know they are there somewhere. The visit is for 1 hour. You will be assigned a window. If you have any questions please PM me. If its something I don't know I will find out.

So looks like I dont stand a chance at visiting my honey for Christmas. He is not even to reception because the judge hasnt gotten the paperwork to the Co jail yet - the jail and "judge" seem to think he still has an open case when he waas sentenced to prison Nov. 17th... Nancbee4 - I read about all of your paperwork messup in a different thread and it sounds like your son was either sentenced through the same county as my bf was OR its just all of the court systems that are screwed up...

My son is STILL waiting for them to figure out what is wrong. The paperwork was supposed to come from Santa Clara County. Last I heard they sent a SECOND SET of papers the day after Thanksgiving. Still now word and now instead of getting angry letters from my son stating he does not know what is going on or why he has not been released.....I am getting NO letters from him at all. He must have started getting my letters telling him I am working on it and that there is a problem. He must be really depressed again to have stopped writing. I am sure his release date was November 20 at the latest and might have been a few days before. This is a nightmare. They won't even approve me to visit. I sent my second application over two months ago and am still waiting. I can't believe everybody else has this experience. I hope it works out better for you.

If anything I can tell my honey to let your son know everything you are doing to get him out of there. Good Luck!

How will you do that? I called the counselor today. She said the attorney mailed the second set of papers himself and they do not accept them that way at DVI, they must come straight from the court clerks office. They spoke with the attorney yesterday and now (today) the papers have been received. I wonder if they faxed them or what but she says they have them now. She went on to say it will take 10 days to 2 weeks to go over them. I guess I have to wait. :(

My sweetie just went into recepetion today so I have been able to talk to him until today. I never remember everything I want to say in those stupid little 15 minute phone calls but boy am I going to miss them now...
About you paperwork mess... you would think the lawyers would know certain regulations about prison when they see people go there all the time!

Yes, you would think they would have it all down after a few cases. However, Santa Clara County lost or misplaced his paperwork and he sat in county for quite a while after being sentenced. He was only moved to state after I called around and asked what was going on and the attorney said he was checking into it. Then once he got to the state problems continued because the court clerks office is supposed to send over the papers and they didn't. The attorney was trying to help and sent a copy but it is not his job and he does not usually do this because the court clerk usually does do their job. Anyway, I GOT APPROVED TO VISIT so I will finally be able to talk to him and tell him what is going on and see what they are telling him. :o

Well I heard that there is a war going on and that reception people came off lockdown Monday and that my honey is going to have to enter war zone pretty much, getting off lockdown. I should probably move this to the lockdown status watch BUT I am scared for my honey. I dont want him to have to get into fights. If the Northerners are really on lockdown though then he wont...
