Hi !
He will probaly write you first. If I am remembering correctly, no phone calls while in reception. I could be wrong. My husband was there for 6 weeks. Just make sure he sends you a visiting form, return it right away. It only took me 2 weeks to get approved........but sometimes it takes longer.
Good luck...

Hi there...my husband is currently at Wasco also. He has been there since December 15th and they don't allow any phone calls while they are in reception. As soon as your guy gets moved to wherever he's going, he'll be able to call probably that same day. I know it's hard.........I would love to just hear my husbands voice right now! ;-) Hope you hear from yours soon!

Hello ladies...

Unfortunately they cannot make collect calls while waiting to be classified and transferred. Once they are moved to mainline, they will be able to call. From my understanding though, they can call one a month if they don't have a job. Once they get a job, they can call pretty much everyday if they wanted to! Watch out for the phone bills though!!! =)

And my visiting form took about 4 weeks to get approved! Pretty damn pathetic!
You can visit too, if you can drive up there...one hour behind glass though! Hey , better than nothing I suppose!

I must be crazy but I remember inmates making calls all the time from the Reception Center. Maybe I was on medication?

My husband just left Wasco 1 month ago and everyone is right. No phone calls and 1 hour behind glass while in reception. My approval to vist took 4 weeks and I went as soon as I ghot the approval. It is hard but hang in there I never thought I would be saying this but it does get better. You can call Wasco and get his mailing address and his cdc number. I did that and he was thrilled to get so many letters from me before he got his to me. He can write and recieve letters and books while he is there. If he has no books I highly recomend getting him some it took almost 3 months for my husband to get moved and they are in lock up for most of the time. They are bored and scared while they are there.

Your man has to mail you a visiting form as soon as he gets it, which shouldn't take to long. And I usually receive my husbands letters in 1-2 days. It took me 14 days to get approved.

do you have his CDC#? you can go to www.jpay.com and put money on his books. you need to enter his full name and cdc#. they charge a small fee ($2.00) i think...but its the fastest and easiest way. or you can send a money order to wasco made out to your man with his cdc#. a personal check takes 30 days to clear but will also work. if you dont have the cdc#, call wasco and give his full name and date of birth and theyll give it to you. good luck!

Hi Everyone,
Well, I just found out this morning that Wasco is on lockdown again (at least "E" yard). Has anyone heard about this or know what's going on? I should have known when I didn't hear from my husband last night as we planned. I sure hope they're off by Saturday, cuz I was planning on going up there to see him!

Hmmm..would this have affected mail, too? I usually get a letter everyday starting Tuesday through Sat and nothing came yesterday. My husband is in Reception Bldg 3.

Elizabeth,
I don't know if it would affect mail. It must have happened either Tuesday or Wednesday. I received a letter form my husband on Wednesday (as usual), which he mailed on Monday. I also spoke to him Monday nite and everything was fine. His counselor called me this a.m. on another matter and he is the one who told me they were on lockdown.:( I'm hoping that he will call tonight.

Elizabeth,
I spoke to my hubby this evening. His yard ("E") is off lockdown as of this morning. He said it's been a horrible week. He didn't give me any details though, he said we'd talk about it tomorrow. I don't remember what yard you said your husband was on, but I'd definately call before going cuz there were a lot of people still on lockdown when I called this afternoon. Good Luck!!!!;)

Hello Everyone.

My man is being transfered to WASCO from McFarland. Prior to McFarland he was in Tracy. I don't know if he will stay in WASCO or be shipped somewhere else.

I was approved to visit at McFarland, and visited him once a few weeks ago. I spoke to the sargeant yesterday, and he said they will transfer my visit approval, but WASCO could require me to go thru the process again.

Does anyone have any experience? Please be thorough in your reply.

I just got a letter from my man today; written Thursday. He may be at WASCO now. He got in a fight at McFarland with another inmate who rushed him in the hall. He injured the idiot pretty bad, and was thrown in solitary confinement. He described how he was thrown up against the wall, then stripped down nude and thrown into a cell. He finally got a blanket, toothbrush & toothpaste at the end of the day. The next day he got running water, fed, and some clothing items. Four days later he finally got my mail along with materials to write & send letters. Five days later he got a shower. He says he is being treated like sh*t.

He got 90 days added to his sentence, but if he stays out of trouble for 6 months, he'll get his original release date of June 9, 2007, back. I am praying he is released on time. I love, adore & miss him so much!!

All information is greatly appreciated, but I would like in depth info please! Thanks!!
