so my fiance was finally able to try to call thurs morning, but MCI had their dumb block of course. I finally got it gone yesterday, but he hasn't tried to call since. His letter said there were 16 phones on the yard, but only half worked, for over 1500 inmates and noone working so the lines were hours long. How often does anyone actually get a call from north yard? Anyone have any info- his new address is NOTDOO-27L. which hall is that? etc?

the "NO" is the North Facility and "TD" is Toro Dorm

My brother calls a lot from North. My understanding is that the guys who have jobs or are in various educational programs get out to yard an hour earlier than everyone else, so phone time doesn't seem as hard to come by that time of day. My brother gets off work around 3, and usually calls around 3:15. I think it's a lot harder to get to the phones when everyone is out at yard b/c the lines are so long. But I'm sure your fiance will happy wait in that long line to try you again!!!

I got my phone call today!!! He stood in line for an hour, but I got it. a whole whopping 8 minutes before we got cut off. But I'll take it! Maybe again on Monday.....:thumbsup:

There have been some lockdowns on the two North yards lately....that would be my best guess as to why you haven't heard from him. Also, since the phone company switched a few weeks ago you might want to call GlobalTel Link as well to make sure everything is okay and your phone isn't blocked.

so there on lock down again at north second week:( they were only out a week well the northerners,but damn! now is not even anything to do with them is just stupid....i hope there out by the end of the week:thumbsup:

im worried my brother is in north sa . which i think is shasta but i have not heard from him , he had his cellie call us but that was 2 weeks ago he said he would call in 5 days but we havent heard from him not even in letters . is there something wlse going on?

My husband is in Shasta too and I have not received any mail in about 2 weeks. But I have received both phone calls and mail during the lockdown. He's not a white or a northerner though...I don't know if that makes a difference.

Yes, SA is Shasta which in on B yard. As far as any of us know the whites and northeners are still locked down, so not getting phone calls. If your brother is in one of those groups that would explain the no calls. If not i'm not sure.

My guy calls a lot but hes not in the North yard.I feel bad for those that cant get calls.It seems like i always hear problems coming from North yard.

My honey called on Monday, I spoke to him then. I asked about the mail issue there. He said to count on the mail taking long to get to him. It only takes my mail to get to the prison in say 2 days, sometimes 1 day (we've been watching the postmarks on my letters and his). However, he told me sometimes it's 10 days before it gets delivered inside to him. So I continue to write everyday and he does too. This week I have received a letter every day in 1 day. He mailed it out on Sunday and I had it on Monday, Monday mail I received on Tuesday, etc. So it's moving out, just not as quickly as I'd like it to inside.
