my bf is sentenced to CRC for 9 months..but before going to jail he sentenced to a work release program instead of jail time in another county...but he can't go to sign up for the program since he's in prison...will the judge issue a arrest warrant for him? and he has a couple traffic ticketshe hasn't taken care of...will they put hold on him before getting released?

My son was issued an arrest warrant AFTER he went to state prison for not showing up in court in another county!! He could not show up because he was already in prison. THe CDCR is supposed to do a background check and find out if there are any other warrants in other counties and then pull them out of prison to go and face those charges ASAP....many times this mean they will serve any new sentences or additional time concurrently and still get out about the same time they would have. HOWEVER, if they miss this important info early then your relative might not be pulled out to go to the other county until his sentence is nearly up. THis means that by the time the other matter is taken care of he may be going back to serve a lot more time. Don't let this happen to him......like it did to MY son!!! Make sure all possible charges and warrants are taken care of ASAP so he will have the earliest possible release date. Good luck.:o
