Sounds like a medical quarantine, have you spoke to your man??? I remember awhile back at ISP, we were being told that yards will not have visits because of tb testing but when I contacted Sacramento, tb testing got moved. He called me this morning to let me know that visits were cancelled...He said he's okay, if all they are doing are testing then I guess I don't need to be as worried. Hopefully they get visits next weekend...good luck in getting to Blythe :) I will definitely be there next week.

Unless it's an emergency TB testings are not to be done to interfere with visits.

Well I guess I'll just have to wait until he calls again to see what the real emergency was cause he didn't really know much about the reason as to why visits were cancelled he said it didn't make much sense to him but I guess they let them know today so it must have been an emergency cause when I talked to him on Thurs. everything seemed normal.

I heard from my man today and he told me to look into what is going on. I guess there have been many in the infermery. I worry so much. hopefully he calls me back tonight. This type of stuff gets me scared because you know if this were to happen anywhere else the centers for disease control would be straight out there.

Keep that in mind and if you have to make that call to CDC (centers for disease control).

i just got off the phone with my fiance and he said they have had a really bad outbreak f some kind. im trying to figure out what it is, but he said so far he knows D yard and A yard are affected. hazmat is there and the COs are wearing masks. im kinda freaked out, he said the guys have been going to medical with high fevers and a blister type of rash, with vomitting and diarrea. i dont know what kind of outbreak there is.

he also said the building caught on fire earlier, and they were evacuated, but they put that out. so worried about him in there!! if anyopne has any info or hears from their men, PLEASE post, so we can all learn whats happening.

I missed a call from my son today, I'm worried sick! Now I'm reading that the Hazmat folks are there. What are they doing to them? Sorry, this is my first time on chat and I feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin.

My man called me again and said that there is something in the food. Also said that they have a memo saying what it is. He will send me a copy. He said others have been saying that there will be no visits for 40 days. I dont know from who. If anyone know anything please advise. This is scaring me he is already thin enough out there i dont want him not to be able to eat at all

i havent heard anything about the food, my fiance said seems to be settling down a bit today, but people are still getting sick. i dont know what its from though. when you find out let me know what the memo says.. ill ask my man if he got one in the morning.

Hi All. Visited my son at ISP yesterday. C-2. He heard about Chucky's but only that it was medical. He thought it had something to do with TB testing to but that doesn't sound right if guys are getting sick.

It does not seem to have affected or infected ISP. Most yards had visiting yesterday. Only Blacks in C-2 and C-4 had no visits. Sorry I didn't pay close enough attention to the others. I'll do better next time.

I still have not been able to talk to my hubbie (he is on F yard), but I did talk to a friend this weekend who is in D11. He said the medical quarantine is because there was contamination in the food (like feces or something) and lots of guys got pretty sick. he said last night that they were all still lockdown sort of. They can't really move around and the yard time is restricted. He said most seemed to be feeling better though. Said it was some sort of viral infection introduced into the food. He thinks the quarantine should be lifted soon.

I spoke to our friend in D yard last night, ad my hubbie finally called from F yard this morning. They both said the quarantine is still on and that people are still getting sick. F yard was not as bad as D but per hubbie, they cancelled work for them today and put them back on "lockdown" status-they can't have yard, etc. They still have phones & mail tho...the recording was NOT updated on Monday as promised, and as of now, is still not updated. I am getting the impression it is a day by day thing but am guessing there will not likely be visits this coming weekend :(

Yeah I thought so, thanks for the information :) I appreciate it. I hope my baby is okay...I talked to him 2 days ago and he's fine I just hope he doesn't catch whatever is going around....prayers are needed badly for all those inmates....

My hubby is on modified lockdown now, they have limited yard time and work is cancelled for most of them. he heard it started in D yard so thats why the guys over there were worse. from what he knows so far, visitng is still off for the weekend :(

im glad hes okay!! itwas something in the food, and my hubby said a lot of the older guys were getting sick, maybe because they just arent as healthy as the younger ones. right before this happened, i sent my man a package so hes been eating all the food i sent and not eating the food there. he has been 100%. hopefully they sort this out soon though.

I sent my babes a package but he hasn't gotten it yet, I sent if like almost 3 weeks ago....I hate it that he has to eat there. I just hope we're able to see them soon, and that they are out of harms way soon......

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope everyone who became ill recovers quickly. I went to ISP this past weekend and seen guys walking around on D yard at Chucky's. You all and your loved ones have my prayers and best wishes. :grouphug:

Thanks Jay-ya issues is putting it mildly :mad: . And if he don't get it together, it won't be home he goes to in 7 weeks. God is definately doing some things, but, as usual, growth can and does hurt. Thanks for the support

this is my first time on this site. Talk to my man today he said still a no go on the visit for this weekend so far.I did speak to an officer on Tuesday says they have to wait for medical to release hold and some of the guys were having flu like systems. My man is hearing rumors also that may not be lifted until the 27th whew. He's in B, and same thing food, I don't know. He says each yard goes outside for an hour at a time,not together. I wanna see him sooooo bad

There's going to be a lonnnnnnnng line down there. I ususally leave around 4 am to get there by 6, guess I'll have to be leaving earlier than that :). Well whenever we get to go back, everyone have a safe drive and a wonderful visit.

Visits remain cancelled for Thanksgiving Day.....I still don't know about the weekend but most likely they will still be cancelled I'll be calling to check about the weekend though....Happy Thanksgiving to all!! Packages usually take about a week to two weeks to get there.

I havent yet. im worried though, my man has been sick the last 2 days and he said they were pulling people out and putting them on medical quarantine. he missed his call to me tonight, he NEVER misses a call, so im worried he may have been pulled out of mainline. i may be overreacting, but this whole thing scares me. if i dont hear from him, i willl be contacting someone asap. i dont think i can call til monday though.:( has anyone heard anything else???

My man recently moved from Chuckawalla, & I thought I'd check in & see how things are going. Wow! What a mess....I'm so sorry you & your loved one's are going through this. It's scary!

I don't have any info on your situation specifically, but I know last month they had a medical quarantine for a bad case of the flu @ Solano in Vacaville. My understanding is that they added 5 days of quarantine for every day that @ least 2 more men got sick.

well, i just talked to my husband and he was told by the doctor he officially has "the bug" as they are calling it, but the wont give him any speciifcs about what it is exactly. he is running a temp of 102. im so angry. tomorrow im calling the prison and the ombudsman to figure out whats up. one of the cos told my husband they may have visits cancelled up through december. they also said it was because of the food. they advised him not to eat!!! i dont know what they expect him to do.

my question is, now that your man is feeling better, how long was he sick for? mines been sick about 4 days now.
as far as the call, my husband missed a scheduled call too this week, they had a fight on his yard and they locked them down all day and night. but things are back to normal now.

ill fill you all in with what i find out tomorrow. my husband also mentioned that they released a memo or something which is supposed to be posted on the internet about the situation. i dont know where to look for it, but im going to try to track it down.

I am SO mad right now!! I am calling the Center for Disease Control this morning and letting rip all of my frustrations about this. I'll call the Lead Ombudsman too (good call on that!). My husband was "physically ill" for about 2-3 days but has had lingering symptoms (intense chills and extreme dizziness) for about 3 weeks now, says he "still isn't even close to feeling right". I am worried for him but also because for our visit in Dec I am bringing our 2 &1/2 yr old daughter with us (as I always do). And I don't want to even remotely risk HER getting this thing too. It scares me. Thanks so much for the update. Hopefully that is why he didn't call (lockdown). Please, any more information you come up with would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much for your input!

My husband is on F yard...he says tthere have been a couple of guys sick but not like the other yards. F yard is away from the other yards and has a differnt food supply I think so that may be why they have not been hit as hard. They are still on modified status...

WOW...this must have just been decided on...I called the visiting line at 8 this morning and it was monday's recording that visits were cancelled until further notice...this is GREAT news!:thumbsup:

well i am glad to hear visits are back on. so hopefully all the guys are getting better thanks for the info. i hate not being able to comunicate with my man. hopefully ill get to see him this weekend!
