When I visited my boyfriend last week he said a memo was put up that once the guys make 30 days at Ulster they can receive packages of clothing. I just spoke to him tonight and he says one of the guys there just received a food package with snack foods. I plan to call Ulster tomorrow cause he makes 30 days on Saturday and I want to be sure I send the proper things. I just wanted to know if anyone who has a loved one at Ulster knows anything about this?

Thanks in advance

keep the name of the person that you talk to.

So I called the facility and was told that the memo is specific to my guy's dorm so he would need to tell me what the memo said. The officer didn't have that information and every question I asked her she kept repeating "he knows what he's allowed to get, have him tell you what is on the memo."
Well, let's see if he could bring the memo to the phone with him I'm sure he would....:blah: (10, 9, 8, 7, 6.....) I'm just going to bring what he asked and hope for the best.

I guess I would just do what he said and hope for the best-bring the memo for the COs at the area where you go in.

Thankfully, they let everything in except for his boxers, but that's ok. I'll just take those up another time. I'm very happy. :D

Was the issue that the boxers have to be a solid color (well except the waistband)?

Yup, you got it. And of course they were boxers I bought before he was sent upstate and for some unknown reason (I must have been feeling nice  ) I listened to him when he said that it'd be ok for me to get plaid boxers. I've learned the hard way to ask the prison or jail what they allow, but I slipped up on this one.

It figures... I hate that. You can't ever find a 3 pack of boxers in the "right" colors without designs or patterns. I hate having to spend $10/pair to buy them individually. You can find plain white in the 3 pack (which is acceptable) in Walmart.

Thanks, there's no Walmart near me but I'm going to try Target on Friday. Hopefully they'll have something.

BabyCuz,

Depending on the size you can get them at Walmart.com too (in plain white) that's the only one the sell 3 or 6 pack of all the same/acceptable colors in solids.

Let me know how you do at Target. I can on find the individual pairs at the Target by me... that mess gets expensive because they are like $9/pair.

Hi everyone. I also send some things to my fiance since he was there more than 30 days. I went shopping at target and models. Target should have a set of 3 white boxers that you can send. The general colors that you cannot send are black, blue ,orange and gray. You can send yellow, brown, red, white, pink or any other colors that does not resemble the cannot colors. The hoodies cannot have a logo or zippers. You can also send him foods. The max is 35 pounds each, only 2 times a month. They say no plaxtic bottles but my fiance saw some people with plastic juice bottles. But should not take the chance. You can send fresh fruits too. I also send books. Will post more info when I get them. Hopefully this was helpful.:)

you cannot get calls on a cell phone and the Ulster info is listed in this thread. I also sent you a PM with links.
