Does anybody know anything about Montgomery County Detention Center? How long are the visits there? Do they have an out door gym. What kind of programs or classes do they have? Do they have work release? Is there a library? What do they take time off for? What can you mail to the inmates? I saw some pictures of the inside on the iternet and it looked like a clean place. The only problem was there were no people in the picture. How could they take pictures of the jail with no inmates in it  So I think they took them when the jail was first built. Anyway, my boyfriend is getting sent there in December and wanted to know how it is there? He heard there are a lot of gangs there. I hope not because my boyfriend is the type that don't know how to shut his f***ing mouth. Any information on this jail would be a lot of help. I already found out that they don't have contact visits. Which sucks because the jail my boyfriend is at now doesnt have them either so he has never held our son who was born right after he got locked up :(

I don't have any info for you but maybe someone will come along with something. I believe in any prison these days, any state or federal, you will find many groups of gangs and it seems to be becoming more popular in MD these days. Hopefully he doesn't have any problems.

I heard its actually nice there, if you can call a jail "nice". Since montgomery county is the most expensive county in maryland, you can presume its a pretty clean, up to date jail. At least that's what I've heard from other people that have been there before. Not sure about visiting and stuff, but its typical for any county jail to not have contact visiting.

My son was in Montgomery County jail recently. It's over crowded, no outside activities and he said the food was pretty awful. His time there was as a Federal Detainee and although we live in Montgomery County Maryland we were not allowed to see him because of this. I went anyway just to see if they would let me in and as far as I got was the guard desk.
I hear the the detention center is just a pass through for Clarksburg or another Maryland destination and I'm thinking by now your husband is probably in some other jail where you can have contact visits.
The best to you and your family.

My boyfriend has been at Seven Locks since January. He said its not that bad. I guess compared to where he just came from (Towson) it couldnt be that bad. He was sentenced to Seven Locks so he won't be getting transferred to Clarksburg. I think Clarksburg is for work release (outside jobs) inmates. My boyfriend works in the kitchen (inside job). He says the food there is good (for a jail). They get nice size portions and it is always served to them hot. Deb, I think it was only bad where your son was because he was in receiving. They can't have visits until they are either transferred to Clarksburg or moved upstairs and given an inside job. There are no contact visits but i guess to make up for it you can stay at the visit as long as you want. Its not crowded once they are moved upstairs. My boyfriend didnt even have a bunk buddy util 2 days ago. The only thing my boyfriend doesn't like about the jail (besides the fact that its a jail) is that there is no library. But hey, they have cable. Thanks or commenting :)
