This is my first post here. And I registered at PrisonTalk mainly to ask this question.

My mom is at a detention center waiting to go to Alderson, I have already sent her a lot of the information that's been posted in this forum. The only thing I couln't find much information about is the drug programs. Does anyone know what kind of programs or meetings they offer? How often they are?

Back in the day they had a cottage forthe inmates that had a drug problem. the model was a theruputic community, which i find to be tough. Remember some inmates drug use has been a life time and their lives consisted of crime and drug use. the plan is offer suggestion, provide relapse prevention classes and give them the tools needed to handle life problems without using drugs. it's the basis of living life on life terms. I suggest you surrendering ,keeping your ears open for information that will help you with your drug addiction.

I think there is RDAP, a residential program, and some other less intensive drug classes, and NA/AA meetings. Here is a link to BOP policies: go there, then click on 'inmate management' then scroll down to 'drug .. programs' (or something like that.) You can read about the different options. My son is in the RDAP program.
