Just go and Google Chuckawalla Valley State Prison and you will find their web-site. I would go there to find out what there rules and regulation will be. Make sure you have his ID number and your photo ID. Different facilities have different regs so make sure you get all the information. Like what you can and can't wear, bring, money denominations ect. You don't want to stand in line forever then get rejected when it is your turn. Enjoy the visit! Peace,Melissa Jay1 11-03-2006, 06:43 PM You need to be there real early in the morning, people line up on the side of the road and even stay lined up over night. The cars start moving around 7:20am and then you need to line up again behind people awaiting the facility to open which is at 8am. You get a pass then after you sign in you get a number and just wait for them to call you. Once you're in line inside the facility you need to stay in your place because people try to cut in front. They are really nice there and very easy going, Make sure you have proper ID and his CDC # and housing if you know it. Bring $30dollars in I would suggest quarters cause sometimes the machines won't take your dollars regardless how new they are. Bring a clear purse and one or two keys with one key ring only. Black is the safest color, don't wear solid blue or white, orange or green...I think you'll be fine. Enjoy your visit. Jay1 11-08-2006, 02:46 PM they are next to each other Chuckawalla is the first one you see and I guess Ironwood is followed right after I can't see it since I go into the first parking lot but the are not across from eachother, when you go you'll see what I'm saying and You won't feel confused at all. joseandmelany1 11-09-2006, 04:45 AM they are next to each other Chuckawalla is the first one you see and I guess Ironwood is followed right after I can't see it since I go into the first parking lot but the are not across from eachother, when you go you'll see what I'm saying and You won't feel confused at all.I am visiting this weekend so I just want to get this right, Chuckawalla is first and ISP is second? Do you know if it will say visitors parking or is there just 2 driveways? I am very bad with directions and get lost easy so as much help as you can give will be greatly appreciated. I am going to ISP. Thanks. Sunflower76 11-09-2006, 12:48 PM After you pass the first guard gate, there will be a parking lot on your right...that's Chuckawalla. My guess is you'll be able to tell when that facility ends & ISP begins...if all else fails, just follow to cars past the first lot, or ask! Everyone's really helpful. Jay1 11-09-2006, 01:35 PM Usually at the guard gate an officer will ask you if you're going to Chuckawalla or Ironwood, They let Chuckawalla visitors go ahead and hold up the cars that go to Ironwood to check they're trunks and ID's so if you'll be behind the line of cars that'll be going to Ironwood...I'm sure you won't have a problem if you still feel insecure ask the officer that'll be talking to you and checking your car. They are real nice up there and watch out for those coyote's lol... have fun! HaPpY's GiRl 11-09-2006, 02:55 PM LOL!!! She said watch out for the coyote's. But thanks for the information, I just want to prepare myself for when my time comes. I'm just tripping on the drive cause I heard you have to go over a hill where you can see down on the cliff. Jay1 11-09-2006, 06:14 PM The drive itself is kind of crazy but just drive slowly and carefully and you should be fine especially if it's your first time and don't know the road well. I'm serious about the coyotes, when we were waiting to proceed towards the officer we seen like 7 coyotes on each side of the road near the prison I guess they were just kicking it or something lol.... lovelyone10 11-16-2006, 10:41 PM good evening ladies...is chuckwalla having visits this weekend? I called yesterday and they said it was still a no lovelyone10 11-16-2006, 10:50 PM I'm in Rancho Cucamonga area...looking for possible carpooler theropes06 11-16-2006, 11:23 PM Okay what's this about a cliff? I'm terrified of heights, is it a normal road? I plan on going out tomorrow and checking it out before Sat. This will be my first visit. joseandmelany1 11-17-2006, 01:48 AM The drive is not bad at all. I even drove it in the dark. I don't remember any cliff, and there are really coyotes!!! We seen a lot of them. They did't bother us at all. Last week I was so nervous after reading this, but its not that bad. Morris1 11-17-2006, 09:29 AM I would recommend you take the 10 all the way. I come from the Corona area and go the 60 to the 10. The 60 has what they call the Banning Pass. It's a mountain road that is a little iffy. About 5-6 miles of it. It's not bad if you just go slow. Morris1 MISSING WILLIE 11-26-2006, 10:19 AM Good Morning Ladies, I have a question. My boyfriends mom went to go visit him yesterday and they told her that he was not at that facility. She said she went back and forth with them for about an hour. Finally she gave up and left. They even gave her the inmate locater #. So I called ISP to ask if he was there. Sure enough he was. Has this ever happen to anyone else and if this does happen what should we do. We live close to Sam Francisco, so you know it's hella far from BLYTHE! I woould be so  if I drive all the way there and they tell me I could not visit. Morris1 11-26-2006, 11:19 AM Is it possible she went to the wrong one? There are 2 next to eachother. Chuckawalla is first, ISP is second. I would think they would have pointed that out to her as a possibilty. That's a very long drive to be turned away! Morris1:eek: :) timo'sgirl 11-28-2006, 02:37 AM does anybody know how long visiting will be postponed for?
