Well it started from the Bigpond commmercial... "I've been everywhere man, I've been everywhere." I was travelling with my ride's five year old daughter. Though I'm only a mother to felines, I recognised she needed to be entertained. I chose that song and changed the words.

"I've been everywhere, man. I've been everwhere. Frankston, Dandenong, Toorak, Southbank, Richmond, Seymour, Euroa, Benalla, Glenrowan... BEECHWORTH! I've been everywhere man, I've been everywhere!"

There's one song that hits me right as I make the final corner on the highway towards the prison...

"She'll be comin' around the mountain when she comes
She'll be comin' around the mountain when she comes
bla bla bla
She'll be ridin' six white horses when she comes...
bla bla bla
She'll have to sleep with grandma when she comes..."

Don't ask me why. Must be the same reason when my breaks finish at work, I sing "Back on the chain gang!"

We sing "The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah" and "ten green bottles" but we change colour every time one falls off the wall! Old McDonald is another one that gets a workout. Other than that, anything I can sing that the absolute top of my voice and have him sitting there killing himself laughing at me!

If I'm by myself, Alanis Morrisette and Atomic Kitten are two of my favourites.

Had to laugh as my son brought a CD, it has all these tunes of the popular songs but the words are all changed. He played that on the way up to visit Hubby.
We usually turn the music up loud enough to not hear usually me sing the words. As the kids say your a great singer you just need singing classes.

When I was visiting my loved one, I would always have the Silverchair - Diorama CD going. It used to drive my boyfriend batty!!!

I don't atually sing in the car (well... sometimes...) I usually go to the library and pick up an audio book and listen to that instead. I find that time passes much quicker that way, and it doesn't feel so much like "wasted time". It takes 2 weekends to get through a standard length book, and most of the time it ends just as i'm turning into the driveway!

What an excellent idea Amanda! I had never even thought of something like that. Might have to give it a try.

We just put the radio on and DS and I sing away in the car.
