I was just reading the post called Nationwide Criminal Justice and Consulting Firm. There was another such operation my man found out about in California. Same sort of thing, they claim they can help get you out or get you to work furlough quicker, or whatever... They also charge around $3000 with no guarantees. We decided not to do it. I am saying with certainty that they are a scam, but what I can say is that we are not aware of anyone that they have helped. When I asked for references on who they have helped, they said that would breach the client's "confidentiality." Well, we weren't asking them to give us names of people who did not want to be identifed, but you would think that they would be able to give some references of people who agreed to be a reference. Also, in doing some of our own investigation, these people do not have the power to do ANYTHING that is not currently in the law to do. For example, we were looking at possibly doing our time under house arrest instead of in prison. They were claiming that they could not make any guarantees, but that it was a possibility. It was NOT a possibility, because there is nothing in the law in CA that allows for that. They cannot get you into work furlough BEFORE YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR WORK FURLOUGH in accordance with your sentence!

We were so tempted to go with them anyway just because we all want to hold on to any sliver of hope that will get our loved ones to us sooner, or get them in a better place. That is what they pray on. This operation told me that they had like a 90% success rate. Well, if that is so, then why don't they give guarantees? They would still make money they were keeping 90% of the money and only hving to return 10% because there wasn't anything they could do.

My personal recommendation, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. If it were legit, why couldn't the attorney get it done for you? Plus, as I stated earlier, we have not heard of anyone they have ever helped.

Ok, I found out a lot about these services. Yes they are a rip off. All that they do is facilitate the application for house arrest and electronic monitoring through the probation department.

YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF!

Call the probation department and ask for the house arrest division and ask for an application. Then you fill it out and post it for review.

These companies claim they can get better results and make ther person look better, but the probation department told me to do it myself and it will get the same results.

There is still no guarantee, but you will know in 3-4 weeks and it costs nothing.

I am doing it in ORange COunty and the number there for the HA division is 714-935-6611

All I have found out so far is it is for non-violent and minimum security offenders.

Say a pray we get approved for me!

My husband paid them and they didn't do a darn thing for me. I still got lost inthe system and I only got to where I am because of myself.

I filed a complaint with the BBB (there are tons of them filed BTW) and I am taking them to small claims.

I ahve a new friend (who originally referred me to them) who paid them last week and now has asked for a refund, but she may also have to file a claim.

My experience with this guy named Brent this week was kind of funny, I called and discussed the case with him, he said he would get back to me. However in my discussion I asked for a name at the jail or probation office who I could call to verify his company and after I asked that question the guy hasn't called me back again and now I am leaving messages just to see if he will call me back. Nothing so far.
