Hello Everyone!!

What's the next level or direction I need to take in trying to get an answer from the State Bar. I sent them a letter via certified (I have proof of delivery) and they are telling me they have not received it yet. Our time is running out and I need them to respond ASAP.

Thanks to everyone! PEACE!

I don't know, but if I were in your shoes, I'd fax them a copy of the receipt AND the letter you mailed. Call and ask whose attention to send it to.

And/or ...

For a more informed answer, you might try posting your question on the following website:

http://www.prairielaw.com

Also, Prairie Law has an online chat 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. (EST) with a lawyer almost every day. He'll answer your question on the spot.

Yes, you should keep at them because you have the receipt. I'm sure they will try to drag their feet like the lawyers, themselves.

I am so angry right now.

I called the State Bar's office again just to see if they had found my letter and assigned a caseworker. I was again told "not yet." I verified the address the lady gave me and she stated she gave me the wrong PO box #. Even though the box # she gave me is in the same office and building and is related to the State Bar association, it was no where to be found. She suggested I send her a copy with an original signature. I am running out of time. Now I have to send another certified letter and wait a week or two before they assign my complaint to a caseworker. This is terrible.

Thanks to BillnDenise and bookgirl for y'alls response. I am going to check out the prairielaw website. PEACE!

if you have to send the letter through registred mail again, what you can do is ask for the name of the person you have to send it to, or a departement or something, and the correct fax number. fax them a copy of the letter and write on it that you're sending the original letter by registred mail. and that it's an urgent case. you could write in your letter that you expect an answer within 10 days. if you didn't receive it after 10 days, call them each and every day. they will get tired of your calls at a certain point and will process your mail. good luck

Thanks Soraya!!

When the lady gave me the first address, I asked her the name of the person handling this type of complaint so I could address it to that person's attention, she stated they need the original letter and once received, they are handled and assigned to a caseworker at that time. They do not honor faxed copies or xeroxed copies.

I will continue to call until I get a response. It's just so frustrating and discouraging, but I can't give up now. Take care! PEACE!

CINDY:

SINCE YOU HAVE SENT THIS TWICE BY REGISTERED MAIL..... TRY THE FAX IDEA.... FIND OUT WHAT THE FAX NUMBER IS IN THE OFFICE YOU ARE TRYING TO SEND THIS TO. THEN FAX THE LETTER AND THE RECEIPT..... ALSO, GET AN E-MAIL ADDRESS AND E-MAIL THE LETTER...

GOOD LUCK HON...

I just found out that I did send the letter to the right office, but was calling the wrong office. The correct office has an 800 #, and I have been left on "terminal hold." I have called several times to no avail and I am constantly put on "terminal hold." They do have a website so I am going to there to see if I can check the status of my complaint online. I will keep y'all posted. By the way, they do not honor faxed copies of complaints. Thanks for responding! PEACE!

I finally got a chance to talk to the right person at the State Bar's office. She stated I should be getting a letter in the mail soon. So far, I haven't received it yet. Does anyone know what's next? Are they going to investigate and send letters to the attorneys involved? The lady at the office said she was unable to give me any information at that time.

I hope they put enough postage on the letter if it hadn't been mailed! PEACE! :pissed:
